There was talk he was due back this weekend, but i read a report online saying  he felt 'pain and tenderness on his first light training run' and his return has been delayed...

Bugger.

By the way i came across another good podcast for those who listen to them. This is only about 10 mins long and is produced by the BBC for the Spurs Official Site.

It has the radio highlights of the goals, features about 3 or 4 mins of an interview with Harry, who comes across as a top bloke and usually an interview with one or two of the players.

Quite a good listen. It's called 'Inside Tottenham Hotspur'. You can pick it up at iTunes or here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/thfc/

Giovani, Luka and JD all out. C'mon Crouchy and Keano - time to step up!

Watched the Tottenham game this morning. very unlucky for you boys, Not sure what more Crouch had to do to get a goal. Simonsen did well considering the late call up and I wasnt expecting a lot from him tbh

Never mind - still more games to come. 3 pts next week at Highbury or whatever it is they call the half-filled white elephant over there.

Nice warm up for the weekend, but sounds like a depleted Everton.  Any idea who the other QF'ists are?

Just had a look at soccernet.com:

Man U, Portsmouth, Villa and Blackburn through.

Others playing tomorrow, but good chances of London and Manc derbys to eventuate.

LOL good one, lowest crowd of the season was 55k in our last carling cup game

13 years without a league win against your biggest 'rival' (quoted as normally this term is reserved for evenly matched teams) lads. Can you end it this weekend? Should be interesting...

I find it interestiing that for your biggest 'rival' you seem to have the need to trawll OUR forum daily and make comments (almost stalker like, well i guess ARSEne W is known as the Kiddy Fiddler), i would supect there is no comments on your forum from Spurs fans...

But 5 years without a trophy...no wonder there's some level of bitterness...

no bitterness here

just pre-match banter, wee bit sensitive there dougie... i understand... but easy on the cheap shots we all know which of the two clubs is most successful

to be honest the NL Derby scares the sh*t outta me each and every time! We've had a good run int he prem without getting beaten now, but that just means when it does happen the fall will be all that much harder!

I dread the day when we lose, dear god please dont let it be this weekend...

All the best to you my arch-enemies!

credit where credit's due... did some research and my earlier post was incorrect (the bit about not beating arsenal in 13 years). You fellas beat us at WHL 2-1 in the 99/00 season... sorry people... surprised one of you didnt haul me over the coals though to be fair!

It's  a funny old thing - club loyalties.  I am dead set against having SJP be renamed for the sake of Cashley's bank balance, but for this:

I am not fussed either way.  I saw my first real football game at WHL in 1973 and I'd love to go back there one day with the family.  But for some reason I do not bemoan progress to a bigger venue.

Junior, exactly. Official naming doesn;t change the way fans view their ground. Just look at RoF. I've no problem with the sale of naming rights, and the resistance from certain Newcastle supporters is misguided.
31 Oct 07:10 · edited 09 Sep 05:18
Um, well Phil I'm one of those who would be very unhappy to see SJP be re-named something else.

To me it's an existing ground with no planned improvements (Cashley ditched those when he took over) that's had the same name since 1890 or thereabouts.

As a commercial venture I have no major philosophical disagreement, but in NUFCs case it is more about Cashley trying to recoup losses rather than generate revenue.

For Spurs WHL also has a similar length of history but the ground is clearly too small for the fanbase and so moving to new premisses and a name change sits well with me.

I might be a hypocrite because if RoF was changed to ... oh maybe Jade Stadium or something like that I probably wouldn't give a rat's derriere. It would still the RoF1

I'm not a real fan then because i happen to support Arsenal.

Apparently...

Buffon - I think you missed my point there which i tried to make re Manly. No doubt you are a true fan, you post on football websites! My point was very much aimed at people like you who i would imagine feel a little frustrated when 'wanna-be' fans pick up on the most popular teams...and then claim to be a massive fan and really know bugger all about their team.

But that's typical isn't it?  That lot always get the wrong end of the stick and rise to the bait.  (and feel sufficiently insecure that they have to come over here).

Just got home from the lane. Spurs looked a bit dodgy but still came away with the win. I nwas sitting in Row 5, at the NW corner. Great view of Huddlestone's goal. Angsty crowd though  . . .

What the new stadium will look like.
Better sound retainment and fan friendly atomsphere. Better than corporate whoredom of Emirates.

Looks Spurs-tastic. What's the timeline? Hopefully by 2011 in time for the next FA Cup win.

'Arry is talking of being in the top 4 this season. I suppose the gaffer will always put a best possible spin on things but there's still a lot of matches to go and already a few injury concerns.

Modric due to return soon but hope he isn't rushed in too soon.

Just noticed a couple of names on the team list:

Harry Kane (forward)
Dean Parrett (midfield)

Any idea of the background of these lads and have they played any games this season?
