Realistically there is only 5 teams fighting to stay up at the moment. these being West Ham, Wolves, Wigan, Blackpool and Blackburn. I feel that Birmingham is safe now.

we have
16. Blackburn 35 pts -15 GD
17. Blackpool 34 pts -22 GD
18. Wigan     34 pts -23 GD
19. Wolves    33 pts -23 GD
20. West ham 32 pts -22 GD

But then looking at there fixtures is where it gets tricky

Blackburn has Bolton (H) West Ham (A) Man Utd (H) and Wolves (A)

Blackpool has Stoke (H) Tottenham (A) Bolton (H) Man UTD (A)

Wigan has Everton (h) Aston Villa (A) West Ham (H) Stoke (A)

Wolves has Birmingham (A) WBA(H) Sunderland (A) Blackburn (H)

West Ham Has City (A) Blackburn (H) Wigan (A) Sunderland (H)

These show that all have there own future in their hands

First i think Blackpool going down is a done deal, don't see them getting any points from their games

I think Wolves will drop Down, don't see them getting any points either maybe 1 against WBA or Blackburn but wont be enough to stay up

that leaves Wigan and West Ham, i think the loser of that game will go down, and on recent form i think West Ham will stay up

Blackburn? they have 2 key fixtures coming up against West Ham and Wolves, if they don't get results there they a good chance to go down to, but there GD should help them you would think

my end table would look like this

16. Blackburn 39
17. West Ham 36
18. Wigan     34
19. Wolves    34
20. Blackpool 34

Thoughts?

Birmingham are not safe yet.

Wolves will be relegated, but for the rest it's still game on. I agree Blackpool are the most likely to join them but if they beat Stoke this weekend it might fire them up.

Blackpool, Wolves and West Ham to go down for me.

Wigan to win that crunch match with West Ham to move to safety.

The big match there actually could the round before when Blackburn go to Upton Park, if West Ham fail to win there, then my picks will happen. If they win, then things get interesting.

The title of this thread can be a bit misleading (I for one was a bit disappointed).

Blackpool to score a 96th Minute winning penalty at Old trafford to stay up - you heard it here first! Alex Fergutlesson complains about the referee.

I would have believed you, but your last statement shatters the credibility!

I thought it enhanced it. unless united win every game, the referee cops sh*t from him.

Pretty pleased you guys know bugger all about football. Too many of you picking West Ham for the drop.

The key will be Parker's comeback. I dont think they will rush him back for away against City but they need him for the last three.
Noble is apparently out for three weeks, but Collison is fit again and may come into the team. That would be an asset.

Oh piss off. Just because we have a differing opinion to your obviously biased one doesn't mean we don't know about football. f**k off.

That's not a bad flame, but you could have done better.  How about:

"So pleased to see you guys picking West Ham for the drop!  Based on your past track record, that makes us safe as houses!"

the hammers v rovers game could be a real decisive one as to whether the hammers stay up or go down, Wolves also have a similar run home with sunderland and Rovers in their last two games.

Wigan are certain to go down....

Check the draw, Wigan are not certain to go down.

Wigan will stay up I think. They will win the big one with West Ham. Thought they were good for the first half against Everton, which is all I saw.

Interesting season so far:

1. Relegation battle still quite open.
2. Title race still open (Man U/Chelski/ ....Ar5ena1)
3. 5th spot still open (Cocks vs Liverbirds)

Carling Cup - Birmingham
FA Cup - City/Stoke

City to my mind are the big winners this season - should take the FA Cup and will secure Champions League slot for next season.

Hope ManU take the title (i.e. I don't want to see Chelski take it)

A very "even" league this season which is good for the game (still rather disappointed but).

Relegation battle is really interesting. I think West Ham are doomed. even if they win tonight they probably won't stay up and if they win wigan will probably join them in the championship next season. If Wigan win though they have a real shot at staying up.

Will be a very tense day for all supporters of the bottom 6 sides next weekend.

I'd love to see Blackpool stay up. I know it's unlikely but if they can manage to take 2 points at Old Trafford then they certainly deserve another season at the top

Woops, I meant 3. But now it's looking like they might be safe with 1, assuming Wigan and Birmingham lose
