Very hard to see both Hull and Stoke staying up. The third to go down I feel will be one out of West Brom, Wigan, Fulham and Bolton. I also have a feeling Boro will struggle too.

No arsenal . . Oh well, guess I won't be voting.

I think the results would be very different if this poll was redone

Stoke for me, they just are not getting the results. Hull will stay up as they have made a good foundation.

Definitely Stoke. I also think Bolton will also go down. Other than that to me there is no other obvious contenders for relegation YET

Fulham, and Hull may yet struggle despite a pretty impressive start.

I still hold out hope for Blackburn.

I know, I know, its serious!

I do believe they're sitting 4th on 13 points, and spurs are last on 2...

Spurs are gone! they may as well give up now! It would suprise me if Newcastle and Stoke joined them. Hull are the stunner of the season, they'll be up next season fer sure.

you never know, we may get to meet them in the "ever so glorious" league cup next year. I think the FA cup might be a bit of a stretch for them though. UberGunner2008-10-14 08:42:13

I think Hull and WBA may stay up. I dont see Stoke making it. Then Bolton, Fulham, Wigan plus one surprise to make up final struggle. Spurs should survive with talent on the books but I remember that talented West Ham side that went down........

Foolham down and watch their die hard fans suddenly become die hard QPR fans = glory hunters.

So much has changed since this poll went up... quite out of it to see. Though i assume the tottenham vote is a little skewed by us gooners...
Hull leading the vote is a testament to how well they have really done thus far.
Don't think anyone would vote for Man City now either... and in hindsight i guess Villa should have been the 5th team to be left out of the poll rather than everton.

Yeah, I want Newcastle to go down, but don't think they will. WBA, Fulham, Wigan mos likely go down. And Reading to come up by the way.

I don't care who goes down, along as we don't

why have so many voted for hull?
It is early, sure. But they have already built a nice cushion that grinding draws the odd win/loss for the rest of the league would see them fit. surely they cannot implode so badly? they are on 14 points with fulham sitting just safe on 6 points.
20 odd people voted hull, why do you think hull are doomed?
I voted sp*rs myself.

a bit of a reality check for us Hull fans too

i know it is early and we will have a dip at some point but i would have thought we would be getting longer odds than that
hopefully one more good month might get the threat of the drop a bit further away
Permalink

all Hull need to keep on doing is drawing the big games and beating teams like Spurs etc, and of course knocking the odd big team off their perch now and then.

It's a very, very long season. No team has ever avoided relegation by having a good first month.
Don't have anything against Hull, but the reality is that the odds are stacked against them in the loger run. Unlike the Spurs for example.

Yeah. Looking at the table, Move Newcastle and Spurs up the table and we are right back into that drop zone.
Spurs and Newcastle should be able to buy there way out if things are tough come Jan.

if you were a player looking for a new club to star in would Newcastle or Spurs even register? Newcastle can't even get a couach to come and help them out...........

Of course you would. They're big clubs, and can pay you well. If you stand out, you can move on to bigger and better things.
Hull, Stoke, Wigan are the teams that fall into the category you mention.

i read somewhere that no team with our number of points after this number of games has ever gone down
(so barring a new first for Hull City ....)
re us, wigan and stoke being ,undesirable' destinations - that might change if we do build on our first season - certainly Phil Brown and Paul duffen seem to get a good response from the players (even accounting for the fact that you are hardly likely to sl*g the bosses off in public)

That's a good statistic for you guys. I'm not saying you'll go down, just that I think that hard times will come this season...

I still think it's unlikely. Small clubs always struggle to get top-quality players, even if they do well and in Hull's case, stay in the Premiership or possibly even get a top-10 finish. I think it takes solid 4-5 years of performance on the field backed up by strong financial backing that helps attract quality. Of the smaller clubs lately, I'd say only Pompey have managed to do this, and even they were in a dicey situation a year or two ago. Whether Hull can match that is to be seen. For your sanity, I hope they do...

Speaking for myself personally, if I was a good ish player looking for a club to go to and I had Hull or Newcastle to choose from I go with Hull - better coach, way better feel in the team and with Newcastle's money problems I'd suggest the pay would be similar plus at least Hull are not losing.

I'm sure the Rovers would be very sad to see you go...
