This weekend could be the end of the league for the season.  That would really suck

There's surely no way the season can continue at this point. Cancel it all and restart from scratch next season. Wouldn't mind that!

This could still be fun for our picks. We don't have to abide by any rules or precedents, we have no one to answer to, we can do what we want. I'm thinking we could take the stats as at the point the season gets cancelled (probably today/tomorrow), and run through our end-of-season scoring and everything, and still have our own trophy/winner!

Well, I'm assuming that might be that, in terms of weekly picks. If that's the case, and the PL announce the season is ended, then I'm going to take the statistics from right now, and apply those as final for our pre-season predictions. Once that happens, I'll run the numbers, and then will announce results the same way as last season - a post for each position, starting from the bottom, with a short wee commentary on each player.

I for one reckon the PL should replay the whole season from scratch.

Agreed. Cancel it and start next season from scratch. Maybe that means we don't have to sign David Luiz! Might have to re-hire Emery though.

Pity  they cancelled this week as I know I had  all the correct scores, scorers, MOM etc.

At this point it's just a postponement. I fully expect things to get cancelled, but will need to wait for further news before calling this and tallying up. I'll keep the thread updated.

EPL not yet cancelled. Postponed at least until Apr 30, and they have said they will go as long as they need to finish it, supposedly. So it sounds like they really want to finish it, rather than cancel/void etc.

Liverpool 2 games away from the crown.

So sounds like some signs of life on the scheduling front. Potentially a return to football on June 17, and the full season to be played out.

I will do a little research on exactly what is happening, and come back with some picks information. I hope everyone checks in and resumes, or we could have big changes in the table at the end of the season!

Ok, so all we know at this point is that two postponed games are going to be played on June 17 - the schedule for the remainder is still to be released.

Prior to the break, we had been keeping it clean by ignoring postponed matches, so we'll keep that going. That means that the Man City vs Arsenal postponed game scheduled for June 17 does NOT require any picking (the 2nd game on that date does not involve any of our teams).

As soon as the schedule for the remainder of the season is released, I will put up a big post with the remaining rounds and rules etc.

Heads up: It looks like the matches will be scheduled tightly i.e. multiple games per week, so if you want to finish the season well, you're going to have to pay attention!

With the COVID-19 break there's a few who haven't come back and made picks. That was to be expected, just a bit unfortunate I guess.

This will throw our Team Standings out so it's not so fun anymore when it comes to that. Just the circumstances really. But I will take some learnings from that and make some tweaks next season to how we do the team standings. Don't want to punish team members for others not making their picks, so might change the way they are calculated there.

Anyhow, thanks to the people who have come back and picked up where they left off, glad all the effort hasn't been in vain.

The only one I'm really worried about is Libertynz, since he is still in the mix at the top, I might flick him a DM. His points were calculated from picks he made before lockdown so not sure if he's been back. All others that scored made new picks. The three bottom guys there had already stopped picking before lockdown.
