Yellow Fever EPL Picks 22/23

As per last season's thread Paul needs to step back from running it this season. He's given me his spreadsheet so I'm happy to keep it going if there's still interest.
I propose to keep it exactly the same as last season in terms of picks and points scoring to make it easy since it's only a week until the season starts. That is, picking just the games of teams supported by participants - last season we picked Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool games.

Format was:
Pick the winner and either a 1 goal margin, 2+ margin or a draw.
5 points for correct winner, 8 points for correct winner + margin, 8 for picking a correct draw.
Pick one player for each match, 5 points awarded if your player gets MOM.

The only change I propose is taking the MOM as being the official one named on premierleague.com - this is the player who is the official MOM and gets something presented to them after the game, rather than using the whoscored.com rating. Often the players were different - I occasionally got confused seeing I had the official MOM but got no points as whoscored rated it differently, so suggesting we go with the official MOM this time. Let me know if any objections to that.

Pre season picks will be same as last season - top 6, relegated teams, top scorer and assister for each team we're picking, golden boot winner, golden gloves winner. As with last season the deadline for these can be after the transfer window closes as deadline day deals may influence picks. Will confirm the deadline date once we have enough interest to run it.

Feel free to get picks for the first round in from now and post them here. Deadline for each game is kickoff time, so if you happen to miss the first game you can still pick the rest. Pick the winner and margin (1 goal or 2+) or a draw, plus the man of the match. As explained earlier, we're using the official MOM this season rather than the whoscored.com rating, so this can be from either team.

Will make the deadline for pre-season picks about a week after the transfer window closes so you have time to think about them.

For the newbie, an example prediction format is:
Palace vs Arsenal - Arsenal 2+ - Saka
Meaning Arsenal to win by 2 or more, and Saka to be MOM.

Hey AJC, just to clarify, does that mean we pick MOM from either team in the match e.g. if we think a Crystal Palace player will get MOM against Arsenal, we pick them?
That might be better, it was always the most confusing aspect of my picks format... 
And yes Ronniemac is Liverpool.

Yes that's correct, pick one player as the MOM, and this could be from either team. It's the official MOM as per premierleague.com (think they call it 'King of the Match' or something like that).

So I'd thought the premier league.com (and app) MOM was the official one but bit confusing that it was Martinelli this morning when Saliba got given the trophy. It seems the premier league.com one is voted by fans after the game but not sure who the trophy one is awarded by.
Will still go with the premier league.com one as there is a full record of it so it's easiest to track.

Strong week from me moving from last to second getting the 2 draws, correct winner for Arsenal and 2 MOMs. TexasRed follows up with another strong round to remain top.

Transfer window closes on 1st September- there are also games that day, so like last season I'll make the deadline for pre-season picks to be before the next round of matches a week later. So get pre-season picks in by 10th September. This gives a little breathing room so you don't pick someone now who potentially moves clubs on deadline day.

You've handled the transition beautifully!

No worries, you made it easy by providing the spreadsheet so I haven't had to do much more than input people's picks and report back with the standings. A tiny bit of re-formatting for personal preference and adding some formula for calculating points for each pre-season pick rather than manual entry, but otherwise it's as you were using.
