You think Argentina and Ghana would be the two favourites to go through. Austria maybe to claim one of the third place positions.

I reckon Austria will pip Ghana for second place

Think I'd pick Ghana to qualify above Panama myself.

Can see how Panama finished ahead of US in qualifying, looking good vs one of the favourites. Robbed by first Argentina goal well offside, absolute cracker of an equaliser. This is a killer group.

With two games on at the same time, I want to watch one game (Argentina v. Panama) and watch the USA v Mynamar match later.

I have Sky but not MySky.

However, Sky are not repeating ANY games whatsoever.

Very poor....

They have all their extra pop-up channels - but no football on any of them.

Two of the pop-up channels are not being used at all today until 10.30 pm and 12.30 am

Sky are such wonkers !!!

You can complain to Sky here:

Ha Ha

The second Argentina goal came from the longest ball out of defence seen in the tournament so far.

Nothing wrong with the odd long ball to mix things up, even from the most skilfull sides

(Says this former hoofing centre-back)

Nz didn't attempt any balls that long today...

Fudge  -what great second half !!!

Angel Correa running riot and scoring

Now a nice volley from Panama's Escobar to tie it 2-2

Ohhhhhh....

Carlos Small breaks and can't finish with only the keeper to beat....

Skillfull Argies and fast counter-attacking Panamanians.

Sensational.

Love the Panamanians. Were paying 14 bucks to win pool before tourney and also over three dollars with a 0.5 goal start against Argie. Now that was value!

That was a great game to watch, great football! Argentina very skilful, a bit unlucky in front of goal. Happy for Panama to draw, they played with a lot of heart.

Anybody knows the attendance? Looked the a average Phoenix croud.

Croud numbers look very poor. Disappointing.

Surprised by Austria, they look a silky side. Have jumped on the Ghana bandwagon in the past, but didn't enjoy their play much... May improve in different conditions though!

Cameras on wrong side of pitch I.e. same side as most of croud - opposite side to where they are for Nix games. That's why croud looks poor.

Was at game, I'd guess 10k for first game then thinned out for second game and thinned out again at half time in second game.

It was bloody cold.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Already outdone by Christchurch with 12,000 tickets sold by mid-day Thursday for the first double-header here on Monday.

And that's for games where the opponents for Germany and Honduras are Fiji and Uzbekistan, two of the most unglamorous sdies in the tournie.

Maybe a Fifa delegate needs to threaten taking games to Auckland to get the Wellingtonians to turn up?

Croud figures today of 9,400 were on par with what anyone could reasonably expect. Looked worse on TV coverage than at the ground because everyone had moved high up in the stands to get out of the rain.

Austria definitely parked a big red bus in the second half and really invited the Ghanians to attack them. Ghana lucky to get the draw, bit of a shame Austria didn't get all 3 as they looked good for most of the match.

The Argentina v Panama was shown as per Nix games... ie view from behind dugouts facing towards main croud

It's early days, but Gschweidl is my current favourite player at the tournament. Mostly because you have to get to the sixth letter of his name before you find a vowel.

Everyone could enjoy a bit of crazy FIFA rules. They have to unscrew and keep the cap of your soft drink before they hand it out. Why is that?

The coffee they serve is a Flat White instead of Cappuccino.

They don't replay fouls and off-sides in the stadium.

The cap thing is pretty logical, they said they don't want them thrown at players officials etc.

That's dumb ass logic. A player would be hurt if someone threw a bottle full of coke minus the lid. Epic fail

The liquid inside would come out during the flight of the bottle though, which would slow down the bottle and lessen the impact on arrival at the player/official.

The whole thing is moot anyway, there's only been one drunk recepticle thrown at a football match in NZ over the last 8 years and that was aimed at the hatch in the roof of a hot dog caravan, not the playing field.

Wasn't there an incident in season 1/2 for the Nix?

I've heard FIFA are employing Baxters for security so punters had better comply with the regs.

Are many people planning on going to tomorrow's games at the RoF Caketin Westpac Wellington Regional Stadium? Being a Tuesday and clashing with the Junior All Whites game against USA I'm not picking a big croud. Forecast is for more rain too :(

Forecast is for rain through out NZ but I hope there's a good croud at WR Stadium as the other regional grounds have impressed me especially New Plymouth.

I was there too and it was freezing. I think if that was a Nix game everyone would be pretty happy with the attendance considering. I had a good time though, was a really entertaining match and a good display of skills especially from some of the Argies (not forgetting Panama's goals) but that Angel Correa is amazing to watch. A Fritz weiner and a few Monteiths from the tap to top it off.

Fuck this stupid game
