Who wants what changes made for the upcoming 2009?

I'm hoping for better control of FK's and heading accuracy!!! Plus its got to be time for some new commentators!!!

Trust me, you DON'T want John Motson! If playing in the northern hemisphere it would be cool to play games in snow again. Also change the generic stadiums, in 2008 the Phoenix played at North Harbour Stadium.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

I want them to sort out the heading, almost impossible for me to score from corners. Also for them to tweak the shooting seems that you always shoot right down the middle.

Have you noticed on defence if you switch your player runs around the guy your trying to get to? I think the players need to be developed to adapt to the way the joysticks are round. Am I making sense or is the looney bin a good option? ;)

Watching Arsenal this morning I saw on the adds in the stadium that Fifa 09 is out in the UK for the start of October, hopefully we're not too far behind!!!

From reading up on it, i like the new colission system, but for me, in fifa 06, the curl of the ball, althought unrealistic, was far better than hardley any curl at all, euro 08.

Yeah good call, '06 had some good curl action, esp free kicks etc. In '08 the curl is always outswing never inswing, however when your taking an FK its always inswing, never outswing. WTF?

Yeah and freekicks. It went from very easy to score, to very hard to score. Id like somthing in between this time.

FIFA 08 Next Gen was an excellent game. This coming from a die-hard PES fan, it was a fantastic effort. Hope they have not rested on their laurels for 09.

Fifa 08 is ridiculously hard to score from attacking free kicks on PC. I would have scored from 1 in the months that I've had it.

All the rest fly over the bar or straight at the keeper.

I could score on 07 quite easily though.Gangsta!2008-08-19 13:43:44

You mean the AI being so good at catching you out?

haha yep. sure do. its just happens way too much.

also if they made the play as a pro thing an offline feature where you could build a player from the start and work through training or something and the goal is to get regular time in the top teams. i dunno just seems like it would be cool.

I think they've got heaps of potential, with be a pro becoming a game solely on its own. I like the idea of eventually having 11v11 be a pro matches, getting a team together and playing all the positions individiually!!! Could be good!!!

The online stuff has actually been fairly quality! Although i hate how if your a few goals up and the opposition runs away and you don't get the result!!!!

I'd love it if they brought back training. I used to spend heaps of time practicing FK's with a wall, instead of the muck around screen with one player.

What are you talking about??? Freekicks are easy as pie on 08!!!

Just aim to the opposite side of the goal to where the keeper is positioned, and just gently tap circle and watch it lift over the wall and go in for a goal,......they are E A S Y ! ! ! !

yeah i agree free kicks were a constant source of goals for me. saw some gameplay footage of 09, i have some fears they've gone back to what used to happen in 07 where your keeper always seemed to parry out into the goalmouth for the 2nd striker to tap in.. hope this doesnt make the final cut. one of my flatmates would use that as his goalscoring tactic in 07.

Don't really care who's on the cover as I hardly look at it. But yes, is it three years in a row that those three have been on? Ronaldo should be there, as well as Smeltz and maybe Sigmund.

i know this year there is music from the kooks, fratellies, duffy, kasabian, sam sparro, and the veronicas. (duffy and veronicas! wtf?!)

Duffy's alright yeah?

Three for me, and two for them.

Permalink Permalink

yeah but it's not really the kind of music they usually have on fifa games. and the veronicas is just plain too far. i think i will be taking that one off of the rotation.

some next gen gameplay. very good looking.

Looks hot!

Few things though:
  1. Martin Tyler and Andy Gray, again. Same sounding commentary. What would be great would be listening to the music instead of them while playing!
  2. Defenders seem to run away from attackers, bloody frustrating still!
  3. Graphics looked hot!
  4. Keepers looked even better
  5. Shots seemed varied which is mint!
  6. Overall, can't bloody wait!

the reason for that is that it was on semi pro. if you play on a proper difficulty they wont do that. its the same on fifa 08, if you play on semi pro or amateur and do a through ball the defender moves out of the way, lets you get about 10 metres ahead of you then starts running.

i think the music is mint already on fifa 08, ten times better than any other sports game I've played

Do you reckon EA games vary their music based on audience? I.E. NBA or NFL is more rap, WWE or WWF is more rock, NHL is more canadian limericks and Fifa is more euro club/cafe music?
