FIFA 2009

been playing be a pro for a while now and am improving.got noticed yesterday and a scout from an australian club approached me wanting to know if i would join there club (not gold coast) i thought about it for two minutes and decided to join,they will fly me to my ps3 in a private jet and let me live in my luxury home.played my first game for them and scored a goal with my first touch of the ball (chipped the keeper from out wide by the half way line)what a start to my new career.

i have it on PSP, the graphics are sh*te, hoping to get it on 360 for christmas!

it it still on ps2? though i'm still cranking the amateur on '08 so I don't think I'd gain much from an upgrade.

So I made my own player for be a pro, finally giving FIFA a try..

Really?  I chose Costa as my player for the Phoenix in Be A Pro Seasons and it forced me into the team (I got to choose where), and then by the second game I was captain.  Seemed a bit weird but perhaps this mode is set up to work properly with the big british teams...

As an aside I was looking at the player stats and Leo Bertos who we all look to for pace only has 66 speed, the same as most of the squad including Smeltz.  The only one who was really any faster was Costa with 70 speed... sure I can't really get too angry for their stats being different to what we expect but yeh I get frustrated with the slow squad :P

ahh right, well it seems maybe I was made for the left wing after all. Arsene knows huh.

Right, so more questions. Well problems.

I'm playing on a rather new PS3, only have gta4 and fifa09 here - and we only have issues with the latter. In be a pro it has developed a few consistent errors,

A) when I go to the menu and to the squad it has several players including my player, blank with only a serial number like AG45283 and no name. If when I load the game and go to that part of the menu, and then on to play match, the game will freeze after the arena has loaded. If I do none of the above, and go straight into the match and use the squad settings in the match menu it is fine.

B) when my flatmate loads his player, the squad lists are all ok but it will often freeze upon loading the arena when you start a match.

It is all very perplexing, and I am no genius with new consoles etc but I can't figure whats happening. I have plugged her into the net and the console it self has needed updates, even done one today, but it does not seem that there is a fifa update or anyway to fix it.

Am I just unlucky and it has some weird bug? or does someone have any great ideas they could share? even just an idea would do to be honest.

sorry cannot help i had problems like that on fifa 08 but 09 works fine

I attempted 'Be a Pro: Seasons' again last night, with the recommended custom character and all that plus choosing a large club (Liverpool).  I was expecting what you guys are talking about where you play in the reserves and don't get to choose your position until you make the first squad... however it immediately forced me to put myself into the first team (and playing a forward I swapped out Keane) and next thing you know I've not even played a game and I'm team captain with a 60 OVR in a team of 80+ OVR players.

Is it just the PC version that's stupidly broken like this or what?  Is very annoying.

My custom player has an OVR of 92 now...

almost at end of season 3 and have ovr 99 on ps3 not tried it on pc

Nickel - i got exactly the same thing on ps2. Is it just ps3 that you start off in reserves?

What level are you playing at? I've started a season as Fabregas for Arsenal and i'm not yet in National team and i'm no where near club captain, although i'm getting 2+ assists and game and 1+ goal a game...all on professional. Maybe if you do it on easy the game play becomes easy as well as the road to sucess?

Quite possibly, I created my own player for the 'Nix and I made captain after the first game (we beat the Jets 5 - 2). Smeltzy gave me a through ball :) wish that'd happen in real life.... he also got a hat-trick...

I like the new shooting... when you smash one over the bar they look completely awesome

I scored with adebayor and the defender marking him got given the own goal. Went instant replay and the ball nowhere near touched the defender. This was xbox 360 has this happened to anyone else?

I can't remember having any problems with my 360 game but my console is dead now. FIFA 09 on PC is much better anyway. 

My 360 red ringed a 2nd time...sent it away and geeting a refurbished console...getting Fifa 09 withdrawls!!! >_<

theres a stadium that looks similar to the R.O.F and has a group of people at the end that are in yellow.

When you play online on psp and you start beating someone the other person quit. its so annoying

I remember playing FIFA 07 on my 360 and no bugger would play me because I'm all the way from NZ and therefor 'obviously' my internet connection wasn't up to it. I had 512k cable connection. That was bloody annoying. The one game I did get to play though was against some Asian fella, drew 1-1.

Ive played a few. But now if i score I try not to score again or else they will quit.

I think EA put a couple of "bad reffering" decisions / officials mistakes in on purpose. Thats the feeling I get every now and then. Just offsides are as unhuman as ever.

I swear the ball goes over the out line, and the instant replay shows it does but its not an out lol
