who gives a rats-ass about official names, so the developers spent
all their money on licensing "names" and teams, where-as most
people are probably so bias towards fifa now they don't realise
that 80% of the teams and names on pes are real!!
too bad fifa didn't spend some more money on game development!! what a boring arcade like game and where's the fun of scoring three hundred goals in exactly the same fashion not to mention the graphics are absolutely abysmall!!
if you want to, look up the ratings in all the xbox and playstation mags and see which game has ALWAYS had the better rating!! In fact, I don't think PES has ever had less than a 9/10!!

Voted Fifa because i have played nearly every fifa game, but i have
only played PES3. But when i played this Fifa 07 was out so i was
comparing it to that, which meant i thought it was rubbish as you
would expect with Fifa 07 vs PES3. Ill have the play PES6 to get a

The gameplay in PES is miles better - you can actually "play football" instead of having to go through the standard FIFA one dimensional system.
I definitely rate the FIFA graphics and the fact that it has the licenses though - that is a massive plus.
The thing that gets me about FIFA the most is that the gameplay is too slow, and your players touch takes forever!

PES 4 ever....best soccer game I ever played...great simulation of football experience...the players look and play like the players, even if on some teams you might have to figure out that man blue is really man city...
I haven't had a chance to really get into fifa...but it seems
more on the computer game of soccer, than a soccer game played on
computer side of the ledger...

PES options blow FIFA away. I am really into changing my formations
and such, something that pales in significance to the FIFA options.
That and the game play is sooooooooo much better. Granted
that the arcade comment is true but for everything other than the
game, all those features are alot better than the manager processes
on FIFA. Plus, using the fact it does not come with real names as a
negative is week. There are teams you will never use so dont worry
- otherwise 10mins and that names are changed! If your lucky enough
to be on PC or XBOX, then download a patch!!!!
PES08 out soon. looks great on 360 and includes shirt pulling
and diving!

I have always been a steadfast PES fan, but I am now hooked on
FIFA.
FIFA 08 smokes PES5! I downloaded the demo od PES 08 and I
still think FIFA is better, I have never liked a FIFA game before,

the only good thing about fifa is the lisencing in everything else
pes is way better changing all of it is simple on pes my pes6
now comes complete with all corect names kits transfers badges
emblen plus half of the bundesliga and heaps of other teams
including the a league

A good soccer game is all about authenticity in GAMEPLAY, not in
player names. PES provides a real simulation of reality football,
this is what fifa is seriously lacking.
For me, authentic gameplay is the core of the total experience of a soccer game. Right, fifa has all the proper licenses, you can just download or buy an option file for PES for all the real names too.

Pro Evolution Soccer by far for me, I have never really liked Fifa
but in saying that, I am enjoying FIFA 08 atm more than the new
PES, but only because it has the A-League and only that, nothing
more.

pes08 is alot better than pes06, its harder to win the ball from
the opposition and the fact there is a full edit function makes it
super now :)

haha, i can play pes, pes is easier to learn also look at the new
scores on IGN and Gamespot FIFA beats PES! haha take that PES
people and dont say anything about IGN giving better PES score...
