Myself and Hard News were discussing our respective Blue Square Bet Premier sides when we were at the pub (all the cool people discuss video games at the pub) and it seemed we had many of the same players... curious to see exactly how many players we have the same so am going to post my whole squad. This is 1 game into my third season, after 1 promotion, which came in my first and a 10th place finish in my second.

Basingstoke Town, 7th after 26 games in first season. Brought in Andrew Milne and Joe Murray as Kiwis. Milne doing quite well up front with Draper. Murray is borked longterm. Also got gk Nathan Dean and defender Omar Beckles -Beckles is class and scores a few goals as well. Dean out of Man Citys youth scene and Beckles from Millwall. Released a few dead woods earning 30k or so at start. Struggling with money though. 150k or so in the red and dropping quite fast. Mainly relying on Cup comps for prize money but I'm out of those now so promotion is key for more money. Hopefully Milne winning a few awards means we get a few offers for him.

OMG - been playing the nix and am up to the 2015/2016 season, playing Sydney, get a penalty in the 85th minute 3 - 2 down,  and who rushes up to take the shot? Vukovich!!!! He's not even in my list to take the shot, he scores and evens the game up at 3 - 3.

I'm port baleful league 2. Fairly infuriating so far,3 games in a row have conceded late equalizers or winners.

Got a better fitness coach. Also have a fairly young side.

Just had an amazing prelimanry final with the Mariners!

Both Ilic and Brosque scored a few minutes after coming on. I felt like the greatest manager ever!

With Burnley at the moment. Just won a 7-4 thriller against Preston. Signed Man U's Macheda on a season long loan deal. Hes an amazing player, been absolutely ripping the championship to shreads. One of the best signings I ever made in football manager.

Just scraped promotion to the premier league after beating Cardiff 1-0 at Wembley. Macheda's loan has finished but Man U want 15m for him. Thats half of what our club is worth! Just signed Charlie Adam for 3.8m and Jay boythroyd for 2.3m. Also picked up Roberto Carlos. Its gonna be a hell of a fight to stay up this season but these signings should help.

Getting angry this afternoon.

Sick of dominating games and not winning them.

Had a good run last night, after almost dropping out of the Play-off zones I finished strongly.  Dominated the FA Trophy semi's and snuck 3rd in the league on the last day.

Hammered Fleetwood 4-1 at theirs to set up a likely play-off Final spot and then went to Wembley - dominated Cheltenham but only won 1-0 to take the FA Trophy (I was a losing finalist two years previously when in the Blue Square South).  Strolled the second leg at home vs Fleetwood and then nipped off to Wembley again to beat Cheltenham by 2 to win promotion to league 2.

Even won enough money to put the club back in the black.  Just.

Topped it of with Manager of the year.  Now about to lose half my squad due to my irresponsible attitude to the wage budget so might have to hang on for dear life in league Two in front of my crowd of 300.

About 5 games into my first season in charge of Crewe in League 2. Brought in Magnus Eikrem (AM C - 18yrs maybe?) and Will Keane (ST - 17yrs) on season long loans from Man Utd, no wage contribution required, absolutely superb. Keane is probably on a goal a game, Eikrem assisting most of those and bagging a couple for himself.
Keane came in as cover for one of my striker who is injured long term as of week 1 or 2 of the season and is pretty much first name on the team sheet now

I also have keane. He has been very unimpressive.

How have you managed to get the best out of him?

He's in the middle of a massive goal drought and I've actually dropped him.

Got Basingstoke to League 1. But the database is a bit big and it's slow so gave up. Might try and find a cash strapped club in any second tier Europe comps.

He pretty much came straight in and started doing the business (scored two on debut if i remember rightly). He generally seems to be poor when played up front by himself, but paired with a decent target man and someone a bit creative in the hole behind them hes been superb.
Hes been doing well lately with the 'comeplete forward' setting, dropping deep for ball from the midfield and running at the defence.
Could also be down to my overall formation. generally play a 4-1-2-1-2 and play primarily through the middle

Ah yeah see I have a few wingers I like to utilize.

Might try him up front with Marc Richards as target man at some point. Perhaps even chris James as AMC behind then if it's appropriate.

Cheers!

well my donkey has gone and got himself injured, forcing me to play a pacy winger come striker up front, and keane has now failed to score in my last 5 games.

That proves it,because I have pacey strikers up front with him. Seems what he needs is a big target man to hold the ball up for him.

Date?

Michael Kloetstra - Spelling might be worn.

Kudus Oyenunga - spelling again.

I'd look for a loan in League Two.

Currently In my 5th season in charge at Alfreton, my first season in L2. After a rocky start I've taken the side to 14th in the league at Christmas.

Have sold an up and coming defender to Perth Glory for AU$400k, the clubs biggest transfer fee ever recieved.

I have yet to sell a single player.  Had a derisory offer (from ipsiwch of all people) for my keeper but not a sniff for anyone else.  Lot's of managers come and watch but no one ever offers.

I have had a couple of Offers, which are usally too low so I turn down. If I see a club is interest and I'm willing to sell said player I often offer them out.

Finished my first season in charge of Crewe in League 2, finished 2nd on the last day of the season on goal difference after a goalless draw at home, bit dissapointing, but automatic promotion all good.
Finished season on a 21 game unbeaten run.

Loanees Will Keane and Magnus Eikrem head back to Man Utd,
Keane ended up with ~25 goals and Eikrem 25 assists and 11 goals, on the transfer list at Utd for 300k pounds, out of our price range unfortunately.

Pretty happy with the squad for the challenge of League 1 but I would like to sign a good creative midfielder.
good times

Despite having another year left on his contract Eikrem was released and I've signed him on a free.

Interesting business from United, releasing him after turning down my offer of 150k (my entire trasfer budget). Oh well, good for Crewe

Ouch. Top of the table clash with Roterham. Came back from 2-0 down to level it 2-2. Hit the post yet again (guess who) then Roterham go down other end to scorea winner in the 90th minute
