Man 2nd season in gonna be a tight finish, after 17 games, this is the standings and points:

1-   Central Coast - 29
2-   Queensland - 27
3-   Wellington - 26 (me)
4-   Adelaide - 26 (Defending champs, defending minor premiers, PSC champs)
5-   Perth - 26
6-   Sydney - 24
7-   Melbourne - 18
8-   Newcastle  - 15

What a close season!

My 2nd best player has just decided to leave on a free at end of the season, Marcin Nowacki from Montnegro, he is immense but has chosen to go to Itlay

Atleast I still  have my best player, a Bolivian international striker, Juan Carlos Arce, has scored 20 this season (including PSC)

Smeltz has been immense, last season he score only a single goal, this season he's on fire!!

I have a problem, too many stikers...Arce, Smeltz, Costa, Bruce Djite (Yeah baby), Michael Baird (crap) and just picked up Nick Mrdja free (hasn't playd but my coach's say he's sh*t, didnt believe them though)

Last night I also managed to get Chris James!!

I think I made my best ever signing last night, a man who I never thought would come to the A-Leage but after 4 months with no club and constant nagging from me he came.....Peter Enckelman!!

Nix are a force to be reckond with now, if I do not make the final with these players I just picked up I am gonna be gutted.  Although I must say the Mariners have Schwarzer between the sticks.

Mrdja is my super sub. 12 goals in 13 sub appearences.

There is an 18yo Paraguayan, Duarte, always worth a look as a signing.

SB - Thats a great ratio, what instructions do you usually use with him?

HN - What position is Duarte? 

Im in need of a new left winger or putting Daniel back in the team, tough choice but I think Daniel is a step backwards.

Why is it not possible to sell players?  I mean the odd player you may get 20k for but most players you have to release

In 09 I'm getting plenty of offers for players, but that won't help you.

Duarte is a striker. 

There is a young Left Winger (in fact AM RLC) but I can't remember the name.  He is either Colombian or Venezualan.  Go to the country, click on ''domestic' on the menu on the left and have a look through each club, he shouldn't cost much.

Note, might need 'large database' for him to be there, but have a look.

Thats how I found Nowacki in Europe, just depends if I can be arsed to go searching all the clubs, sometimes I am impatient!

It's not too bad, there are only beteween 6 and 9 clubs in each nation, and most of them only have a couple fo players.

Ahh sweet, I'll have a look when I get home from work.  I tell ya looking through Europe and Africa sucks!

I'm just gutted to lose my winger who has I think it's 18 for long shots!

I ended up coming 4th on table, and beat adelaide home and away.  Was 2-2 with Perth in the fight to make the grand final when Lochhead decides to give them a penalty! We lost.

It was made harder as with 18 games gone, Serepisos (sp?) decided to sell my prolific goal scorer, Juan Carlos Arce, and he only got 2m AU $, I think if it was done right $5m was a realistic price.

Got a bit bored of Nix game, will come back to it in the meantime.  So presently I made a bit of a muck around database with New Zealand and Australia now part of the North American confederation, will try see how far I get qualifying against the likes of: USA, Mexico, Australia, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago & El Salvador.

Haven't played any serious matches yet, just a few friendlies:

Things were going well, nothing flashy but a 100% win record is decent, until I got to Egypt. Never saw that coming, yes they are African champs but still, was thinking I would go down 2-0 or 2-1 but to concede 6...!!!!!

Things started good James put me ahead in the 8th minute, then not long after that Lochhead thought it would be a good idea too injure someone and get sent off.

Then Oughton thought it'd be funny to give away a penalty.

James is immense, he's scored 5 goals in my 5 games in charge!

I will let you know how I go when qualifying comes.

EDIT: Just played away to Venezuela, lost 2-1 in my final friendly before action starts, finally Killen scores!  Quite pleased, I gave a lot of fringe players a run.

New Zealand has next to none left sided players! Damn its hard, I have had to experiment with players there, Hogg seems best bet so far.

HN = Will GCU & NQ be in FM09?? My answer says no but what does yours say?

(Since you have these early versions and all)

No for a number of reasons.

1, How would you get them a squad when they don't have one confirmed ?
2, The FFA have their greasy maulers on approval of stuff and won't let us.

Okay I thought as much, I thought they may just put the team in there and you would need to either assemble a squad or play with those fantastic greyed out players.  I thought the answer would be no though

Just got an email saying Nov 14 is confirmed release.

Got some awesome signings for Aston Villa second season. Just bought Sergio Aguero, Jens Lehmann and  Micahel Owen. Bought Jean II Makoun and Van Der Vaart first season. Won the premier league by 1 goal on the last day

Wish i was as good with Villa. Too bad i have the tactical nous of a tortoise.

I used a 442 with 1 DM and 1 AMC with high tempo short passing. Van der Vaart was my AMC who set up about every goal, scored about 20-30 goals in one season with about 12 being free kicks.

Yeah, same when you have the full database.  Great way to make s a BIG transfer kitty for the Phoenix.

Demo's average. I have 8 players injured after 3 pre-season games, its ridiculous. 

Yes... I've been whining about that for minths.  Wait until that happens when you are playing with an A-League side.

Have been reading reviews, apparently injuries are a ridiculously constant occurrence in the game.

One A-League season I played, 3 teams had 7 out, one 6 out, 2 with 5 out... of a 23 man A-League squad.  It was raised.

Suspect there will be an immediate patch out when the game is released.

I agree with the injuries, I was in pre-season and one of my players was injured for about 3 months in training!

HN can you tell me have the fixed the citizenship?

On 08 when a player was at the Nix they were gaining Aussie citizenship, when really the were living in NZ, has that been changed this time?

That was fixed in one of the later 08 releases. It should be the same in 09

Well I have version 8.0.2 which is the latest release and it aint fixed, I can tell you taht
