Just wondering if there could be a 'grey' skin background (similar to the white noise background) to the website.  I find the White one too bright and the yellow one not so good for work.  If not, no worries.

It's hard enough maintaining two themes, let alone a third, sorry.

There's a chrome extensions that makes websites SFW in a similar way that the white theme works, maybe you could try running that on the Yellow theme and see how it looks?

No worries - thanks for that.  Will look into the chrome version.

Should use SCSS?  Then you can just change a couple of variables to modify the colours.

Is it me or is the android app not working very well? Seeing as it's the main way I interact with the forums its quite anoying. It takes forever to load anything and crashes constantly.

Working fine for me.

Yea I gave up on the app ages ago because of the crashing.  I either just visit the site when I'm at a desktop or via the browser on my phone occasionally.

That's probably on purpose!

HAHA, I hope not if it raises people eyebrows when they aren't contacted about something :)

I've told Patrick about 100 times to fix that!

Feature request: Fix images

http://yellowfever.co.nz/posts/1148411

May I suggest, keep the current implementation but make the pictures a clickable object (i.e. href) and open it up in a lightbox overlay or even another window?

Images work exactly as expected, exactly as you enter them in the Wysiwyg editor?

Solution in that post is to put them on multiple lines?

Problem with making them an href to themselves is that you can add a link to a picture since it's just another html element you can edit when you do your post?

I haven't looked deeply at the code, but it seems that when you view the image it is cropped to the width of the content-wrapper div. In many cases the image (when you view it) is wider than that. I work around it by right clicking on the image and selecting 'open image in new tab' but I was suggesting it would be nice to left click on the image and have it open in original size (or something like that).

What I took the problem to be was viewing the image, rather than editing posts.

Patrcik has said on twitter that he is looking into it. Something about the certificate.

Apps working again, sorry for the downtime team. We've fixed it in a way that should hopefully make sure that issue doesn't crop up again.

Why not replace search with a google CSE? Better than a 404.

Hmmm. Maybe. Just need to find a reliable place to source it from (and that place isn't NZF's website...)

Can we get rid of the swear filter?

I've basically lost interest in the forum and I've found it's about the same time as when you introduced the swear filter. Every time I see a "fudge" my soul dies a little.

I mod on another forum which has been around way longer which is open to all ages but have never felt the need to introduce this sort of thing..

It seems petty but it really isn't helping when people feel alienated from the YF as it is.

at the bottom of the page as well, so that after reading the last post I can click on it to go back to the forum menu.

At present have to scroll back up to the top.

(unless there is some other tech solution I dont know, not that up with it)

Cheers

Does the back button on the browser not take you back to where you were before?

If you do that the page does not remember what the last post you've read was. It will still show x number of new unread posts, just as before you visited the particular thread. That would be why I also go out by clicking on the higher thread name like Hepatitis does.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Is there a simple way to delete my own post myself (when just created, obviously in error etc).

The best way is to edit it so that it contains something offensive, then I or someone like me will report it and the mods will hide it.

When I click on the "2 new" it always takes me to a page with nothing on it.  I then click last and it takes me to the last page.

What's up with the forum ?? Feverbot is having an orgasm about the Perth result, the size of the panels for typing replies has shrunk and the ability to see which threads have received responses since ones' last login has disappeared altogether

Nik decided to "upgrade" the software that runs the forums.

Thanks for the explanation. My last concern about the flagging of updates on posts since I last logged on - can that be resumed. it was an excellent feature.
