Brazil 1 - 0 up after 2 mins.

First Brazilian goal against Spain since the time of Socrates.

3 - 0 Brazil final score. A stroll in the Maracana. They can't wait for the main event now.

At least Del Bosque will bring back the double pivot for the WC. Don't know why he didn't use it in the final (but with Javi Martinez instead of Alonso, obviously). Or even move Ramos to right back and Javi Martinez CB. Arbeloa is the obvious weak point of this team (and in particular, he was terrible today). Very painful viewing. Looking forward to a more defensive approach from Spain next year. Congratulations to Brazil though, bossed it and worthy winners.

As an aside, Ramos is a cunt. I briefly tolerated him in 2010, but I can't any longer. Horrible.

I honestly think this was the worst possible outcome for Brazil - they'll now think they're fine, and will expect to win it next year. And I can see that sort of thinking coming to bite them back on the arse.

Spain will still be one of the top favourites next year, but I wonder whether they should have given some of their older guys a bit of a break this  at the end of the season just passed.

Yeah I'm sure the Spanish core could have done with a rest this off season! This may benefit Spain next year though. If they had have got through 1-0 as per usual then no changes to plan or personal, this may force a rethink.

Well played Brazil. I haven't seen them mess someone up like this for a bit!

Ruiz save off the line made this an easier game for Brazil than it actually was. Think if Spain had got a goal they might have stepped up a gear.  1-1 at half would have been interesting.

First real time I'd watched Neymar. The boy can play huh? and got a lot of power on that shot.

Be interesting to see what depth Brazil has over the next year- they didn't tap it much at this tournament.

Coutinho linking up with Neymar for Brazil next year. They could very well cruise the tournament.

Battle Confederations Cup finals in Brazil and Spain. Or they want to play against the World Cup 2014.
