Finished 0-0. Good result for Rapids going to Toronto and a draw.

Though Toronto probably were holding back, having 2-0 buffer from 1st leg.

How is 0-0 a good result when they needed a win to go through?

Three for me, and two for them.

same as the nil all logic at home verses Peru

No it isn't. It's absolutely nothing like that at all.

Three for me, and two for them.

In one example you are going to Peru where a win or a score draw takes you through, and a nil all draw takes you to pens.  The other, you are 100% out.  It's really not the same thing at all!

Yipe Rapids knocked out, so strictly speaking yes a ‘good’ result is an untruth.

But after losing first leg at home, and playing 2nd leg away against last years runaway best MLS side, is certainly an improved result.

MLS proper starts this weekend.

DId he keep his best striker on the bench until the second half, just so his team didn't get demoralized if he had to take him off before the 90' were up?

We drew with Peru... still a good result, no matter how we twist it.

Permalink Permalink

Sure. I'm just as happy we drew with Peru as I am we drew with Paraguay in South Africa.  Some decisions I'll NEVER be able to understand.

First MLS game away to New England.

New England grab a stoppage time goal (93rd minute), to win 2-1.

Anyone watch it? Basic stats suggest the Rapids were a tad unlucky. NE had 2 shots on target to Colorado's 5.

Winning goal was a large deflection, and the Rapids also missed a penalty.

Following up pen save by keeper, Rapids player also missed easiest of tap ins.

Off topic: I'm interested in seeing how Jolley goes at Grimsby as a benchmark for "best". I've been to AFC Eskilstuna who Jolley led to relegation last year, its an interesting ground (Tunavallen) with the floodlights on the 4 blocks of flats at each corner.

Big result for him today, 3-0 over Philadelphia.

1-1-1 record so far, and the loss and draw were both from late goals.

Ok start.

No idea. The basic stats have them with less than 50% possession in every game so far, so we can rule out tika-taka.

Also no idea, but looks like he has acquired a new wardrobe for cold Denver. Very dapper.

ANOTHER late goal conceded, 1-1 draw with Dallas.

Conceding late has been a real problem for Hudson.

Fitness? Concentration?

Also, Colvey, Wynne and Smith all started.

Good to see so many AWs getting minutes in the MLS now.

Big smiles for Uncle Tony, as Rapids beat last season's MLS champs Toronto 2-0 at home.

https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/04/14/highligh...

Still sounds like Rapids struck it a bit lucky with Toronto travelling back from Mexico, and rotating their squad after becoming just the third team in MLS history to reach the Concacaf Champions League final following a historic semifinal victory over Club America from Liga MX.

The 3 kiwis all started again, but colvey was subbed off at 39 minutes. Did he get injured?

No, just got the hook 'tactical substitution'.

Bad 3-0 loss yesterday.

Howard got sent off on 20 minutes, so 10 men obviously played a part, but the stats were pretty bad. 29% possession for Colorado, no shots on target.

2-2-2 record now.

Plus the loss and the draw in the Champions League. But Hudson will probably edit those off his Wikipedia record.

Probably. Someone earlier said he was holidaying in San Francisco.

Makes sense to catch some MLS games, and catch up with old AWs colleagues when Stateside.

Yip, he has been doing the rounds in the US/Canada. First spent time with Brown in SF, just been to the Rapids and got a tour, now in Toronto. You should check out his instagram feed. Just had a look, Toronto has a flash indoor training ground. Noticed that with the Rapids, the facilities and stadiums for MLS teams are amazing.

Wearing my All Birds now. Very comfy.

Sadly Silicon Valley types, usually favour investments that make money!

I'm surprised my all birds haven't fallen apart on me the amount I wear them.

I doubt Brown has too much in cash. He'll have a lot of stock but that will have a vesting period and as a VC backed company there will be pressure to keep the wages of the founding team below market rates.

Still, All Birds sponsorship could be a good start :)

4 losses in a row, 2nd bottom in the conference now. Overall league record is 2-2-5.

Not looking good Mr Hudson!

Pressure must be coming on now.
