Been put on Sunderland's final five-manager shortlist. If he continues with his poor results and complete fan disillusionment at the Rapids, seems like he might be free to move there pretty soon...

I cannot understand why people are still talking about this 'con' man.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

It's a nice distraction from our own clubs failings.

Thumped 4-0 by New York City for their 5th straight loss, bottom of the Western Conference.

Hudson in freefall.

Some will be enjoying this me thinks...

Two home games now against Vancouver & Portland which will be huge.

Defeats in both of those and I will probably lose my bet already with Buffon II, that Hudson would last the season.

Its pretty sad that I've only just started to keep an eye on this league to see how Hudson went.

I've been impressed though, it's very competitive, no one has less than 2 losses so far.

Admittedly I've only been watching highlight packages, not full games, but it seems quite entertaining.

There's normally a live game every Sunday morning on Duke channel. Last weeks game between Portland and LAFC was very entertaining with a brilliant goal from a certain Carlos Vela

I like to see how he spins this on Wikipedia.

Well this is what he said last time he was sacked:

On 28 September 2011, with Newport having won only once in their first 12 games, Hudson was sacked,[28] despite new signing David Pipe stating "everyone is definitely behind the gaffer"[29] and senior players "contacting the press to let the fans know what the players think".[30][31][32] ]

Laughed so hard when I first read that. Jesus fudgeing christ

Not the most ringing endorsements by Rapids fans.

Rapids loss v timbers would be six straight for Hudson.

Tuiloma may line up for timbers.

Would loved to have been a fly on the wall for dura’s recent visit with Hudson.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

3-2 win to Timbers means six on the trot for Hudson's Rapids.

Tuiloma subbed on at '79

The Rapids must be highly unprofessional, and their players are clearly very tubby.

Colorado six losses on the bounce at home to Vancouver one win in nine (four draws) tonight.

01 Jun 18:25

Yes is a huge game today verus Vancouver at home. Lose that and with 7 losses in a row...........................

Personally I hope he keeps his job. In the minority but I rated him with AWs, and he is giving good playing mins to Deklan Wynne, plus given Colvey (up to him to prove he's good enough) a chance.

Below is from this week's Flying Kiwis column

Tommy Smith, Kip Colvey & Deklan Wynne – Colorado Rapids (American Major League Soccer)

Oh dear. Not good. The Rapids brought a five-game losing streak into their game with the Portland Timbers and the Timbers brought a five-game winning streak to the party. Safe to say that the match went according to the form book and both have now ticked off and even half-dozen on their respective journeys in opposite directions. Anthony Hudson, what have you to say for yourself!

Anthony Hudson: “It’s difficult, in our run, to talk about lots and lots of positives. All I would say is that they kept going, they kept working and we’re better than the results are showing recently. We’re a better team than that. Disappointing night.”

That disappointing night almost saw them behind in the sixth minute when Tommy Smith gave the ball away in his own penalty area. Eventually they did go behind, Samuel Armenteros with an absolute schooling of centre-back Danny Wilson (glad it wasn’t one of the NZers) for the opener, although the Rapids struck back swiftly thanks to a Julio Cascante own goal... Cascante being the guy who is currently keeping Bill Tuiloma out of the Timbers starting XI. But then Tim Howard couldn’t handle Seb Blanco’s cross and Armenteros had a double, right on 36 minutes played.

Diego Valeri scored Portland’s third from a second half counter attack. Colorado exposed on the break after losing the ball with half their defence committed forward for an attacking corner. Once again you’ve gotta wonder where the midfield was. Anyway, Howard denied Armanteros a hatty before Yannick pulled one back with the last kick of the game, a 99th minute penalty kick. 3-2 to Portland.

Hudson made two subs at half-time, Yannick Boli replacing Shkelzen Gashi and Axel Sjoberg on for Danny Wilson. Axel Sjoberg is the bloke a lot of fans reckon needs to be starting at CB, with Deklan Wynne something of a recipient of faith there from the manager. Neither Smith nor Wynne had their best games but they also weren’t at fault for any of the goals (and Kip Colvey wasn’t in the matchday squad). That manager, however… seems like he really needs to get a few proper results, rather than more moral victories, because the fans are getting a tad fed up.

Burgundy Wave addresses the big grey animal you were all wondering about: “To address the elephant in the room, I actually don’t think he’s favoring the Kiwis over other Rapids. It seems to me that Hudson is trying to figure out the right combination with what he has, which is why we’re seeing guys like Nana in positions that they are clearly uncomfortable in. I assume that Deklan Wynne will lose his starting spot when Kortne Ford comes back, but Tommy Smith is a quality centerback that has earned his spot in the starting XI.”

To be fair, the second-hand stuff I've heard is that players appreciated how organised his training sessions were. What higher praise could you get/want?!

It's Nashville's first ever season, terrible result to lose to them 0-2, and didn't even get one shot on target. Rapids will be seriously regretting giving him a 3 year contract.

To be fair to Hudson, he's probably been busy trying to get himself linked to the Real Madrid job.

And many are now like crazy ex-girlfriends, following his every move so as not to miss the opportunity to dance on his grave.

As much as I disliked him whilst manager of the all whites, it us a shame that it hasnt worked out at this club.

He has the nz connection and has given colvey and wynne a chance and potentially may have given others in the future

Yeh there's that.

I wouldn't have been unhappy if he was able to make something happen and do reasonably, and I don't think the All Whites are ever likely to have a Hiddink.

Smith too playing some football.

But he has to be good enough to earn his success. And if he isn't he isn't

I totally get your point but I am not sure its like that

I think its more like this

The fans called him out on so much stuff (rightly or wrongly) and he literally stuck a middle finger in the air and said 'well what do you all know'. I guess in theory, 99% of people would feel that way, he just got right out in front and blasted everyone for not backing him rather than thinking it internally. Immature move in dealing with the invested parties in the AWs. The reason people are laughing now because its the chance to say 'You told us to fudge off out loud but all you have done is proven us right'. If he had shown a little more humility, he would have people genuinely supporting him.

The problem Hudson has now is that he has not really done anything at any level, so whats his next job realistically going to look like?

Grumpy old bastard alert

08 Jun 22:33

Colorado Rapids terminate Stefan Aigner's contract. He's not played in any of the last eight, apparently had a set to with Hudson on the training pitch and either said 'nah fudge off Huddo' or the opposite. Rapids fans wanted him in the team.

Another Tony masterstroke.

Also, he took a lot of credit for stuff that came from the increased budget allocated to the aws, rather than anything really to do with his coaching
