I saw in another thread that the Victory were wanting $1m comp. In what planet are they living in?

In other news, Kevin Muscat will provide ample comedy lols as the new HC of the Victory. He can tell the players how he did it 'his way'

MV paid big money for Ange and they have a contract to prove it. They should be compensated. This is a business.
Don't think that Muscat won't be a good replacement. We have Ricki.

Did they specify in the contract that if Ange is offered the Clowns job, they will not release him unless they are compensated?

I personally don't think Muscat is a good replacement either but it will be certainly entertaining.

No get out clauses in the deal. Only way to break the contract is for the FFA to pay compensation. Unless Ange goes the 'Yeah but I didnt actually sign that contract' again.

Sounds like the Victory board has accepted 50k for Ange .... so much for that million.

Asking for a mil was a ridiculous but then accepting 50k is a joke. They denied Milligan a chance to play EPL because the offer wasn't good enough. Ange convinced him to stay, then bails on him for a pittance. Milligan to do a Paartalu now?

Reckon the Victory players will be pissed at this? Kosta for example, I think it's safe to say that Ange is the only (or at least the main) reason he's in Melbourne.

Surely that would have an out clause of Ange left. That's the only reason he went there.

Only reason? He was not setting the world on Fire in Russia and Greece and was getting pretty sparodic Game time. Ange may have been a pretty strong catalyst but a significant reason would have been to get more game time.

The other option was Sydney, im sure he is happy with his choices right now.

Yeah but the story around Sydney was he backed out of a deal so am not sure he would be welcome there tbh

So whose missing?

No Troisi or Duke or Sainsbury

I'd pick those three over likes of Kennedy and Neill

Ange said Troisi & Sainsbury were very close to a call up.

6 current/former Roar players, 5 former CCM players. The Roar never seem to get the plaudits that CCM gets for producing players.

MARK Bresciano's dream of playing in a third World Cup is under severe threat after the veteran midfielder was fined Euros1.3m and suspended for four months over the circumstances of his transfer from Qatar to the UAE last year.

FIFA have ruled that the switch was illegal and banned his new club, Al Gharafa, from making any transfers for a year, but Bresciano's personal penalty threatens to be immense unless his appeal is successful.

Al Gharafa have appealed against the verdict to the Court of Arbitration in Sport but unless it is heard by the early part of next year, Bresciano faces the prospect of being suspended during, or at the very least for the entire build-up to, next year's World Cup.

I doubt Ange will have him on the pitch in Brazil anyway.

I thought there was reasonable consensus among the Aussie pundits that despite a drop off in pace, he still provided the midfield control that was missing when he wasn't on the field. He's the only 'old boy' who has't copped shit from the fans, and has been suggested (admittedly by the media) as a possible new captain if/when Neill gets dropped to the bench. Up until this ban I would have said he was a dead cert for some WC game time.

Very strange, I do question if he will make it to the World Cup next year. He is now talking about an A-League move because he is stinking it up in Japan and won't get his contract extended.

Aussie $1.95, Draw $3.30 Costa Rica $3.60

Rather tempted by that $3.60 for Costa Rica.
