If you have any comments on how Brazil will go etc put them here.

Dunga, while greatly criticised in Brazil has slowly brought together a team that plays as a team and doesn't rely on just one huge superstar. This team has grit.

Team is full of less known names now, something like:

Julio Cesar - Maicon/Alves - Juan - Lucio - Kleber/Marcelo/Santos - Silva - Melo - Kaka' - Elano - Robinho - Luis Fabiano

"less" known but still pretty damn good.

Adriano shold make the team possibly Nilmar based on his current form. Black Plague2009-11-18 21:19:19

What do you reckon Ronaldo's chances are of being in the squad?

I'd be interested to see whether Adriano and Ronaldinho make it.

Can't understand why the don't just start one of Maicon and Alves on the left, they are just both so class.

Been tried before, they get exposed a bit too much at the back, especially since Lucio likes to drive forward too.

That's why they tend to play with a conservative left back.

Never been a fan of Brazil in the past.  Hoping they'll bow out at the quarters but play some attractive football up to that point.

I don't think Ronaldo will get in the squad. Dunga will steer clear of putting in players just on reputation. Ronaldo, while he hasn't played badly is still not up to scratch. Luis Fabiano can't put a foot wrong at the moment and ir Robinho gets back to fitness then ROnaldo will move further down the pecking order.

Ronaldo got a double against Palmeiras just the other week...the injury he had earlier this season didn't help, but I reckon if he repeats his Paulista form from last season he'd have to be looked at. You can't dismiss a guy whose banged so many goals in the past World Cups, and is banging them in at domestic level just like that. If anything, I'd rather take Ronaldo than Adriano.

And he had a great game this morning v Nautico so if he keeps that up through the libertadores then he may have the opportunity

Well, well, well.

Brazil, Portugal, Cote de Ivoire, Nortk Korea.

Some mouthwatering clashes await. Brazil is happy it got it's favoured group G but myabe a little concerned that it has C Ronaldo and D Drogba for company, not to mention the Kim Jong Il crowd.

Any thoughts?

I will be posting here in the leadup to the cup to give the brazilian perspective from their newssites. So if you want to know what the Brazilian Media is saying then just check here.

Tough draw for Brazil, but they'll get through.

Portugal's not the team everyone thinks they are.

Looks like Ronaldinho has awoken and is finding some form to put him in contention for the world cup squad. in his first hat trick for Milan, he displayed that the joy of playing is back. When he is enjoying the game there are few that can stop him.

Ronaldo may end up going but he will have to prove it in the Paulista and Copa do Brasil.

Robinho back to Santos to get back into the rhythm  and to maintain his world cup plans. Should be a good brazilian chapms this year with Adriano, Fred (from Lyon), Ronaldo and Robinho all returning to Brazil.

I have Brazil and Portugal to advance. After the Cup of Nations I dont think the Coast have what it takes to beat either of these two. Drogba wont be able to do it all himself...

Traditionally the big African nations don't put their best effort at the ANC in World Cup years.

Add into the mix that the Togo disaster and the fact that the Ivory Coast team had been threatened with a similar attack and it's obvious that football was far from their minds.

Adriano is definitely in danger of losing his place, missed a penalty in Botafog's victory in the Rio State final.

Botafogo are state champions for 2010 Wooooooooooo!!!

Neymar the 17year old from Santos could be a surprise call up, him and his mate Ganso. Santos is the toast of Brazil at the moment, they are playing champagne football winning games by 8 or 9 goals, it's ridiculous.
