Belgium's in good Kompany making the quarters.  I'm Fellaini they Hazard a good chance of going further.  Mertens get too excited though.  I think I'll be Buyten my time and just see how it pans out.  Maybe they get to be one of Defour top sides?  They'll be Climan up the rankings if they do!  Belgium fans Moussa be pleased about how they are going - sure beats a Vertongen lashing. By any standard they've not been a Borre - unlike some of the other sides that were Lombaerts their best.  I'd try and name all their players but some just Wilmots fit in.  I mean, what on earth sounds like Alderweirald?

from July2014 if that counts

was fun to do anycase :)

Spain was bloody impossible, I thought

but a new day and ...

Spain, Diego out of the competition real early.  Pretty Xabi performance from the defending champs - a lo grande - that's "big time" to you pommie Torres.  And it'll be Reina tears in Spain.  So they've bought their Bus-tic-quets and are on their way home. Simply never found the right de Gear.  Doesn't Mata? Sure it does. Casillas again at the next Cup!  Vincente home early this time.  Sergio right - played like a bunch of Jordi's after a big night out.

The Guardian's coverage of Pablo's performance this morning was outrageous. I will be writing a strongly worded Zabaleta to the editor.

Not the only team with accommodation troubles apparently, I heard that Spain were kicked out of their hotel after players were found in the bathroom doing lines of Koke.

Roland and Daniela Lahm have been very vocal to date in talking up the likelihood of their son Philipp’s German national team winning the 2014 World Cup.

Will Deschamps’s France bring about the silence of the Lahms?

Colombia v Uruguay was a bit of a goldmine:

'Rodriguez James Uruguay'

Plus the obvious biting ones:

Suarez shoulders the blame for WC exit (You could insert Chiellini there too)

Uruguay not hungry enough

Uruguay lack appetite on big stage

etc, etc

It would be pretty difficult to find a pub or esky bar in Colombia that isn't full of people watching the football

Happy for these to be considered under Smithy's "I make the rules so there" clause. The following illustrates how much I cannot handle all this late drama. Let's assume it refers to the Mexico v Netherlands game.
