Just picked up a pair of the new Nike Mercurials for my son.

Slight sneaky trick. I ordered from prodirectsoccer.com - if you switch to the german language version of their site, you can get Free name personalisation on the boots [normally 30GBP for Name + Number + Flag). Cost is the same for boots and shipping, although billed in Euros. Just be sure of the shoe size in Euro sizing.....

They are awaiting harsher weather conditions and softer grounds.

I am looking at getting some new boots, both firm and soft ground. Any recommendations for boots that have a good wide fit and good lateral support?

Some might find this a bit of a laugh but I have a bit of an issue I've been battling for years. Basically my left foot is size 10 and my right foot is size 9.5. This is due to me breaking three metatarsals when I was 15 which stunted the growth of my right foot. I've just been bulking up the right boot with an extra ankle sock which has been ok but not quite ideal and it's beginning to piss me off.

Anyone help? I really don't want to have to buy two pairs of boots and have to discard the spare odd pair.

That's superb Oska. I've found a temporary solution which is working fine but I think I'll go for a custom boot next year. Added bonus that they are Adidas as well. Cheers for that!

Hi TopLeft07,

Have you had any luck?

Im thinking MiAdidas might be the trick.

Anyway Ive got a 9.5 left and larger right (around an 11). I normally just buy two pairs. Potentially worth looking at splitting the cost of the 9.5s?

Cheers

Chris

Apparently Leo Bertos is trialling some new F50's. No details are released about it yet and Leo wont say much about them

From 23rd September to 6th August SHoe Clinic will do MiAdidas for you.

Personally I reckon you'd be better using the web and shipping to a US or UK address and get people to send them on.

Hey could someone who has ordered from ProDirect help me out was looking at some boots and reading the FAQs on the site and read this

"
If I am ordering from Non EU contries, am I liable for import taxes?
For Customers in Non EU countries: If goods are being sent outside of the EU we will remove any VAT (Value Added Tax) applied at the prevailing rate by the UK government to goods purchased. Customs or import duties are then applied once the package reaches its destination country.

Any additional charges for customs clearance must be paid by the recipient (including, but not limited to, taxes, duties, holding fees). We have no control over these charges and can not predict what they may be.

Customs policies vary widely from country to country and are subject to change so we would advise you to contact your local customs office for current, up to date information prior to placing your order.

We will also not be liable for any further costs incurred as a result of a recipient's refusal to pay customs charges and will charge accordingly for any charges incurred by Pro-Direct Sport as a result of the recipient's refusal to pay the applicable charge levied by Customs."

Do you have to pay an import tax when you buy your boots? If so how much?

Think it's GST. I've never been binged in 8 years of buying online though.

Correct.
Ive had this problem before.

I was charged $250 something in GST. Paid the costs and recieved the packages within a week.
Added an extra 8 days to my delivery because of this. Maybe I was just a bad case though?

Anyone know any other good sites for indoor boots other than pro direct? They don't have my size stocked on pro direct

So i just got pinged on a new pair of boots off prodirect. The new F50s so they were silly expensive already but they were under $400, $320 actually including delivery etc. Letter from customs which charges me $112 which is made up of
import duty,
GST,
import transaction fee
and a biosecurity levy.
Makes for some very expensive boots...

Ouch.

I've got some gear despatched yesterday, hope it doesn't get caught up.  Should be closer to $300.

Actually just reread the details and they charged me the fees due to the boots having a value of $278, so that is even lower. Perhaps they starting to crack down because I've never been charged before.

Worst part of the sad story is I won't know how far I run in the game this weekend

Shut it topleft. I take back all my general whining, the boots are well worth the money paid for them (so light its silly) and more importantly the data readouts after are seriously cool.

Mine arrived Duty and GST free last week.

Only challenge is my new boots are a little tight...
