ADJ starts and is off at 70 mins (0-1) in a 0-2 loss.
Stellenbosch down to 10 men from 55 mins (0-1).

They host the other big Soweto club Orlando Pirates in 8Cup semi final, 1st leg this weekend. Will be a big deal for a small PSL club like Stellensbosch.

Kaizer Chiefs and powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns in the other semi.

Stellenbosch lost 1-2.
ADJ one of two subs made at HT when his team were 1-0 up.

Most likely tactical as Stellenbosch had gone down to 10 men at 32 mins. But unfortunately they conceded at 66 mins & then late at 94 mins to lose.

ADJ subbed on at 70 mins (1-0) in a 1-0 win for Stellenbosch.
So finishes 2-2 on aggregate. But unfortunately Pirates into the final on away goals. I thought away goal rule had finished, but seems not in South Africa.

Stellenbosch take an early lead in this one.

Good to see him (#18) getting in on the goal celebrations at the end there too.

Goal about 2.20 mins in this highlights video. Picks his spot after opposition keeper on the ground saving a team mate's rocket shot.

Actually was a League Cup not PSL game.

Stellenbosch (4th) host Cape Town City (2nd)

Stellies doing well for a small club, though ADJ not getting alot of playing time. Mamelodi Sundowns running away with the PSL title yet again. Perfect start of 10 wins from 10 games.

Aucklander De Jong could be a good squaddie for the new 09 team.

Club's first ever trophy apparently.

Clubs only existed for 6 years or something like that. But good on them for the success, and good for ADJ. 👏

They're still doing better than the Wellington Phoenix in the trophy cabinet stakes as well. 😅
