Waineo verus Garbs could be a tasty watch this weekend. Two Welly boys.

Then another Welly duo maybe meeting up in The Championship, Marko verus Libby?
Cacace apparently close to a return.

Highlights. Waineo misses an early difficult chance.

After a result like that you'd expect PV's gaffer Darren Moore to finally be sacked this week.
PV dead last, 7 points behind Doncaster (2nd last).

1,862 was the official crowd. But yeah well below Huddersfield's av attendance of around 15K.

All the locals in Benidorm for the hols?
I visited Huddersfield for ABs verus Italy 1999 RWC. Pretty grim place, more so in late December I imagine.

No post coach sacking bounce for PV.
Lose 1-0 at Bradford.

Waine back to the pine, and no mins.

On the move, or just out of favour with the new manager?

Not in the match day squad as PV thrash 10 man Blackpool 5-1.

Brady is actually Australian born. Arrived in the UK as a player in the early 1990s, and has stayed there ever since.

As per Jazzy's comment in the January Transfer thread he might be a Waine fan.
Fingers crossed

Must be true that the new gaffer Brady likes him. Waine 78 mins as a left winger in a 1-0 win for PV

Though being a Cup tie likely some rotation. Usual no 2 GK Joe Gauci was in goal

Does Waine want a Port Vale contract? Would he play league two happily for them?

Niche Cache

the Vale just sold striker/winger Ronan Curtis to Plymouth Argyle (Waine’s former club). Curtis had been struggling for starts but had been a regular off the bench, appearing in 19/23 league games this term. There’s a chance that Vale go and sign a new replacement but if they don’t then this lifts Ben Waine up the pecking order at a convenient time.

Riding the pine to start the game, hopefully gets a run and scores a banger

Banger unsure, but he comes off the pine at 61 mins and yes scores to get PV a 1-0 win

Into the EFL Tropy semi finals

He is the only person in their team scoring semi regularly... surely he gets minutes to reflect that.

Winning goal against the former gaffer Steven Schumacher - the guy who took Waineo to England to sign for Plymouth Arglye.

Must be a nice feeling for the lad.

Genuinely the perfect night for Waineo. It's a better sign for his chances of being a first team regular within the squad that he wasn't starting tonight, rather ironically - PV will be focusing on their league survival more than a nice, but ultimately meaningless cup.

Then goes and gets the job done late to show why he should be in that starting XI. Great stuff.

I'd pick Waine to start next league match against Mansfield. His recent form certainly deserves him getting a start.

Does anyone know what the fan reaction to him has been like recently? Surely it's started to turn around a bit.

It seems almost certain they’ll be in League Two next season?

He’s got 3 cup goals and 1 league goal.

At the moment that seems like a bit of consolation for the fans, as well as keeping them in the EFL trophy…

There seems to slightly nihilistic humour to PV fans regarding their situation - from what I've seen and heard the reaction to Waineo's hot form atm seems to have been met with a mild surprise and amusement by fans.

It's less "Waineo's on fire, your defence is terrified," and more having a laugh at other team's fans that they got mugged off by a Waineo goal.

Sort of feels like if OVH went on a little scoring run last season. I still don't think they particularly rate him, but that will change if he keeps banging them in.

Waine gets a late 95th cameo appearance (1-3) off the pine as PV lose 1-3, to stay dead last.
