Poor ol Waineo, must be a bloody nightmare to keep training and hoping, but not even on the subs lists any more.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

gotta wonder if he has left the move request too late, or has he asked to be loaned/transferred and the club has refused?

career is stagnating at this point!

Port Vale lose 0-3.

Hopefully a loan move annoucement for Waine is not far off. Henry Gray was only loaned back to Braintree (a previously loan club for him) about 2 weeks ago. Of course that didn't last long and Gray is back at Ipswich again.

With luck there is a L2 or even National League team that would like to have Waineo. That's if PV are thinking loan deal, and just not some sort of mutual termination.

Be interesting to see if Baze picks him for November or brings in Barba. Waine was okay against Poland.

PV have a home FA Cup tie (R128) against Maldon & Tiptree from Isthmian League North Division (7th/8th tier) this weekend.

You'd hope Waine makes the match day squad for that.

He can't move anywhere until the window opens

So Henry Gray could go out on loan, because he hadn't played for Ipswich (first team)?
But because Waine has played for PV this season, he needs to wait for the January window?

I think there are provisions to allow short term loans specifically for goalkeepers which could be why

Braintree is a Non-League team, so FIFA windows don't apply to them. But yes there are provisions for GK emergencies in FIFA rules.

Perhaps a loan to National League level team is what Waineo needs to consider!

3 different L1 clubs and barely a look in, or goal at any of them. Plymouth were yes promoted to the Championship when they loaned him out

He must have requested a release. Not even getting on the bench when they put their 2nd team out.

He has not improved on his one dimensional play since leaving A-League. I am sorry but he shouldn't be in All Whites squad anymore.

If we build it, they will come...

Can't get on the pitch against an 8th-tier side. More damning that if he wasn't even in the matchday squad imo

Ranked 5th in their striking ranks, gotta wonder why PV signed him on a 2yr deal? Unless they thought they were getting a finished product and not a development project.

Port Vale lose 4-0, and are 23rd (2nd last).
No Waine.

Gauci in goal. Patrick Beach picked ahead of him for November Socceroos.

No Waine again in the matchday squad for a 1-0 loss. Two strikers starting, 3 subbed on. He's essentially the sixth choice striker on comfortably the worst attacking team in league one. Broken record, but god he's gotta get out of Burslem

And I think he's playing in midfield, or maybe out wide.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

He's scored! Bagged the 4th as they currently lead 5-0 with the 90 almost up.

Match highlights. Waineo cuts in and curls it it in very nicely off his right foot.

We wait to see if his goal gets him in L1 match day squads.
But not optimistic about that. As Jazzy Jeff stated in the Mata thread, Waine still lacks the quality physical hold play you need to do well in L1.

Barnsley with bigger fish to fry (chasing promotion & a FA Cup game against Garb's Posh this weekend) may have rolled out their reserves/youth.

Great goal for him too. He's still got it, just not getting the chances.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

And for the second goal I think it is he makes a very nice run, which drags two defenders with him and allows the guy on the ball space to shoot.

Well taken goal too. Was it just me or did his teammates not seem that happy? Looks cold, evening game with the heat visible coming off everyone in vapor…

Anyway, great going forward, running at defenders or in behind, crossing, useful with his head at a corner or cross, capable of different finishes…
Not likely to bundle Yerry Mina off the ball. Competing with Kosta, Randall McCowatt et al for one of those roles, rather than a back to goal 9 imo.

Hopefully gets some starts and some form.
