killen's 8 goals saved shenzen from relegation. 8 in 13 matches for a struggling team is a fine return

What is the likelihood of a guest stint for Killen in Wellington during the Chinese off-season? Any thoughts on how this would benefit Killen/Shenzen/Wellington?

Killen - Gametime, gets to play at home, would probably take a paycut.

Shenzen - Depends on whether they want Killen to get a rest or keep match sharpness up. He has been playing pretty solidly since well before the World Cup. Saving some money on him probably doesn't matter to much to them.

Phoenix - He'd no doubt bring something the Phoenix could really do with, money's the issue here.

The chinese super league will only start at the beginning of march. So hopefully chris killen would be physically ready for China and Japan games(25th,29th March).

Shenzhen is last in the chinese league with only 1 point from 5 games and scored only 1 goal in these games(killen's goal). With the current situation I think it's just a matter of days before Philippe Troussier get sacked

Wow. Killen scores twice to give Shenzhen a valuable 2-1 win over Henan.

Brings his tally up to 3 for the season and Shenzhen jump from bottom to third from bottom.

Edit: Here are the highlights. Killen's goals @ 1:14 and 2:09

second one a bit marginal but great placement. Henan's goal rather amusing in the aftermath.

Is it just me or does no one go to these games? Killen is looking sharp though.

Shenzhen is bottom of the league.  No one goes to their games.

Their big spending neighbour Guangzhou Hengda is top of the table.  they are averaging 45k crowds (but the stadium holds 60k).

Killen picked up a red card against Tianjin in the previous game so was suspended against Shaanxi.

Huang Fengtao who partners Killen upfront dedicated his goal to Killen.

Edit: In fact he got a 4 match ban for fighting.

Both Shenzhen and Chengdu are stuck on the bottom but Shenzhen has faced some of the better teams recently and now have a few games against the lower half teams. Killen is back from his suspension a couple of games ago but picked up a yellow in his last game. Hasn't found the back of the net for a while.

Shenzhen could still get out of relegation if they get a few wins in the next 4-5 games.

Signed a 1.5 year deal which is due to expire near the end of this year. Coincides with the end of the Chinese league.  They have about 10 games left.

Could be a good chance.  Can't say i've seen many players use the Chinese League to springboard into Europe or other parts of Asia. He might get lured by another cashed up Chinese team though.

Lots of money splashed around in the CSL this season, but Killen has only scored 4 goals so far.

Would be good to get him back to Wgtn - would have to be the weather cos I'd guess that he'd probably take a pay cut.

Could be loaned to us while the CSL is in the off-season...

He's done pretty well out of football.  He's unlikely to get another gig in Europe.  I'm sure you're right and he could get something for more money in Asia somewhere.  I guess the question is how important is it for him to come and play in Wgtn?  He is very close to his parents who have been very supportive of his career and live in Wellington.

Someone send him a DVD of 14 Nov 2009 and tell him that every Nix home game is like this (not like Shenzhen games which get 4-7k crowds. And yes I do have selective memory and some midweek games vs NQF in the rain didn't really happen).

Killen scores @ 0:55 ish and provides the assist for the 3rd goal.  Then misses a sitter in the 2nd half
