A few days ago Shenzhen played Jeju Utd in a training gfame (lost 0-4).  Killen was not in the team, but was apprently doing strength training with the fitness coach.

Confusing.

So much bollocks going on over in Shenzhen.  Dufus Troussier wants Killen out, but the Chairman hasn't confirmed anything - nothing is finalised.

Seemingly the talks with Chongqing are still going on from mid January.  Seems likely he will be going there.

Some bad blood between Killen and Troussier. A while back Troussier was abusing his Chinese players (very insulting it seems) and Killen took exception to it.

When Twuntier said that he was a foreign player and therefore it had nothing to do with him, Killen replied "They are my brothers (mates), we play together, I won't have you speak like that to my brothers!"

Massive ups to you ?????!

Is Killen currently unattached or did he return to train with Shenzhen before being loaned to a chinese first division club??

He is seeking to leave. Last article mentioning this was yesterday. Nothing has officially changed since my last post. Seems to be dependent upon the price that Chongqing is willing to pay.

Although Shenzhen have three new foreign players in so there is no place on the team for Killen.

Chris Killen has a new club after transferring from Shenzhen Ruby to fellow China League One club Chongqing FC who won promotion from Division Two last season and play at the 58,680 capacity Olympic Sports Center in Chongqing.
The deal was announced on 19 Feb and in the press yesterday.  Transfer amount unknown.  He and his team mate Li Fei are both at Chongqing now.

Chongqing FC lost 0-2 to BIT on Friday night. Killen had a couple of chances in the first half (missed a follow-up after the ball came off the goal post from Martinez and then later headed the ball which again struck the post).

Interestingly Gareth Morgan was on Wynton's world of Football radio show today, Killen was approached to come here but they couldn't agree on $ so it wasn't taken any further.

Pretty much what most people expected to be the case, guess Killen is just happy milking the Chinese cash-cow for the time being.

Yep, as much as I would love our owners to open the cheque book, I don't expect them to compete with the crazy money on offer over there.

Killen starts in Chongqing's first win of the season (round 2) 2-1 away at Guangdong.  First half header saved (28th min), then subbed at 65 mins.

Edit: Also had a left-foot shot cleared in a goal mouth scramble from a corner in 41st min.

You're most welcome abris!  It's pretty sporadic browsing on my part and Chongqing being the league below the CSL will make finding any video footage or game links next to impossible.

Chongqing FC beat rivals Chongqing Lifan 4-1 last night. Killen gets the third goal in the 83rd minute (header off the cross from Martinez).

Couple of pics:

Edit: Killen also provided the assist for the 1st goal (MA Xiaolei, 10th minute).

Killen scores from a penalty (47th min) to give Chongqing FC a 1-0 victory over Shenyang Shenbei. Then subbed in the 85th minute.

Killen now has three goals after 5 games.

Yellow Fever Podcasters: Cultural Learnings of CSL for Make Benefit Glorious Forum of Yellow Phoenix

1. Chongqing is pronounced "chong-ching"
2. Killen played for Shenzhen Ruby in the CSL last year. Shenzhen was relegated to League One.
3. Chongqing FC was promoted to League One at the end of last season.
4. Killen moves to Chongqing along with team-mate LI Fei.
5. Everybody hates the Shenzhen coach Troussier.
6. Shenzhen fans unveil a banner supporting Li Fei and Killen and after the match last week (which Shenzhen won 4-2 over Chongqing), tell Troussier to "Feck off" in both Mandarin and English.
7. Sadly he hasn't, but hopefully will in June.
8. Spot on about the franchise system and moving teams around depending upon the tax breaks that each city can provide the club owners. Very Nice!

Killies on some pretty decent form right now.  Would love for him to move back to a more established competition though like Japan or Korea.

Apparently Killen has been injured (thigh) for a while - he missed last week's game which the team lost.

This weekend's game he was declared fit to play at the last moment.  While not on the scoring ledger he helped the team snatch a 2-1 win away against Beijing Baxi.  Subbed late in the second half, his replacement (Ouyang Xue) scored the winner (84th min).

Killen played for 79 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Shanghai Tellace, possibly still not fully fit.  Had several shots.

In China, Chris Killen and Chongqing lost 1-0 away to Tianjin Songjiang to stay in seventh place.

Killen will join up with the All Whites squad in the Solomon Islands in time for the start of their World Cup qualifying campaign, which begins with the OFC Nations Cup opener against Fiji on June 2.

After a two week break, Chinese football resumes. Killen scores in the first half in Chongqing's 2-2 draw away to Wuhan.  He is upfront as the lone striker as Chongqing go for a defensive formation and get the point they came for.
