Elanga, Gibbs-White and Wood is really an exciting attacking triumvirate when they get going. Sosa and Hudson-Odoi handy too, with Murillo and Milenkovic chipping in goals as well.
Sorry to see that Elanga couldn’t put away that later chance he had.
Saudi Pro League would be such a let down, but at the end of the day you can't fault players for maximising their salaries while they can. It's a short career...
Two kiwis in the Serie A would be an interesting one. This is going back a few seasons to the Burnley days but I recall a yarn about Lazio keen on having a look at him previously.
He’d be wise to take whatever he can get if there are a few offers available. Having the season of his life age 33 as he’s about to come off contract will be a hell of a career boost. When he signed for Forest some might have thought it would be his last big deal at the top level. Instead he’ll most likely get a 2-3 year deal worth upwards of $10m if he plays his cards right.
Agree with the above. My heart would love to see him at AC but my head says Nottingham is the place to be. Especially given they’re second. Argue a better wage and see how high you can go.
Fwiw I’d love to see him stay at Forest as well, I just don’t think cashing in on one last big deal when you’re 33 is unreasonable. If he can do that where he is that would be perfect.

12 for the season, Hudson-Odi pulls it back and a tap-in for Wood.
2-0 to Forest as the first half ends, Gibbs-White opened the scoring against his former club, heading for six straight wins and level on points with Arsenal.
Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood: "It's about consistency, and doing what we've been doing well already this season, not letting up. We need to keep doing what we've been doing and what has been so good in the first 19 games."
On Taiwo Awoniyi: "He's a big part of us. A fantastic player, that's what he wants and he deserves it for all the work he puts in on and off the pitch."
On Morgan Gibbs-White: "He gets a lot of stick, particularly here at Wolves, and that's the best way to fight back. Scoring goals and that's what he does."
On Nuno Espirito Santo: "Confidence, belief, responsibility in a team that works to all our strengths. We tweak every week, it's not the same every week and he's done superbly well since he's come in.
"Luton on Saturday then we can focus on Liverpool."
On the title: "Well and truly way too early to talk about that. Not thinking anything like that."
Another goal for Wood. Hes in the form of his life. I couldnt be more happy for him as he has copped a lot from critics....most of it unfair. Just shows if you get the right coach, tactics and team mates you can be a success. How often do you see a player flop at one club and fly at another
He has proven those that labelled him as an old school target man - trying to suggest the game had moved on without him. He's scoring in any which way he wants at this point,. His midfield are giving him the ball as he needs it and allowing him the chances to embarass keepers with ease.
Sky TV UK had a pic of Chris up on the home page as the best thing to watch today on the box. Never mind the golden globes, a kiwi footballer is the one to watch.

Forest have some tough games and banana skin games coming up in the run in. February looks particularly tough, with Liverpool next week to boot. Fulham and Bournemouth will be tough. Brighton and Newcastle too. Palace and Ipswich seem to fire up on occasion too. And City and West Ham? Who knows which version of them will show up.
If they can come through that they will have earned a top half spot. But you feel Nuno knows this draw have been must wins, with the tough times ahead.

I thought about doing it at the time but then got side tracked by Squid Game season 2 and Colin from Accounts.

FA Cup. Forest host Luton, who are struggling down in The Championship (20th).
Be interesting to see Forest's (3rd, 40 pts) lineup. They host Liverpool (1st, 46 pots) in a few days. Do Forest rest a few? I mean they beat Liverpool, and dare say start to have EPL title dreams no??
Reds and Gunners will have mid week European distractions starting again this month. Man City have shown it's possible for the big clubs with all their talent, to go on a bad trot. Liverpool have an easy FA Cup tie against Accrington Stanley.
Hopped off the Buenos Aires to Montevideo ferry, and walked into a Montevideo asado (BBQ) restaurant, and they had Forest vs Wolves up on the TV! Sat down, turned around and the Woodsman was celebrating. Of course excitedly explained to the waiter, 'jugardore numero 11 es de mi pais' in my Spanglish.
And virtual wave to the Nix fan from Blenheim if you are on here still. Met at the AWs v Peru game Lima in 2017. Nix fan who wears the yellow and black Penarol top! Saw lots of Penarol jerseys in Uruguay, and thought of you again.
This win means that Forest have won six top flight matches in a row – something they last achieved in 1979 (and also in 1893). They face Luton Town in the FA Cup next week but they can tie that club record in the following fixture... at home against leaders Liverpool. Sounds unlikely but they are the only team to have beaten the Reds this season, don’t forget, and Liverpool are also the only current Premier League club that Chris Wood has never scored against so he’s overdue a goal. Plus, you know, if they win then they’ll move within three points of the top of the table. Don’t even worry about Champions League, this squad could be in a title challenge.
I don’t want to be a party pooper, but I think it seems probable they are going to have a more difficult final third in the league. The games seem to lack any real respite.
A few of their games they’ve won with a soft goal or so. Liverpool, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Arsenal, Fulham is January and February. Only Southampton from lower down the table. Then City, United, Villa, Brentford, Tottenham with Everton and Ipswich, for March and April. 11 or 12 seriously tough games there!
No one would be happier than I if they can maintain their ranking after that run, and December was also a tough run they’ve absolutely destroyed, but wow. Being top of the premier league is absolutely something you earn! So many difficult games.
Forest pull off the upset they close within 3 pts of the Merseyside giants. Liverpool the only longstanding EPL team, Wood still to score against. Great time to break that duck.
There are six other clubs Wood has faced in the Premier League without scoring a goal.
He never netted in two matches against Stoke City where he played a total of 172 minutes, nor in his lone appearances against Blackburn Rovers, Forest, Hull City, Portsmouth and Sunderland – where he played a combined total of 54 minutes, coming off the bench each time.

Niche Cache. Sounds like it will be a new 1 + 1 deal with Forest. Keeping him there to June 2027, if he performs well next season.
Might be AFC after that.
Nottinghamshire Live: “Wood, Forest’s top scorer this season with 12 goals, had wanted a new two-year deal at the City Ground. It now seems that an agreement has been reached on a 12-month contract, with an option for a further year. The Kiwi’s age may be a factor in Forest’s reluctance to hand out a long contract, with Wood now 33. But he’s in the best form of his career. He netted 14 goals last season to match his best-ever scoring campaign in the Premier League, and needs just three more from 18 games this term to eclipse that number.”
