More news that the Foxes look set to sign Argentinian striker Ulloa from brighton for record club fee. Pearson has been chasing him for a while.

are wolves still chasing wood? All over the gossip in early June and then disappeared. Leicester is starting to cop some heat over how few new signings they have made with the EPL only a month away.

RE robmm1976

Everton's website will stream the game, will cost $$ though.

From Football365 -

Leicester want to pair Sporting Lisbon's Islam Slimani with £7million Brighton marksman Leonardo Ulloa up front as they return to the top flight...

Doesn't sound good for Chris

Word is that there are three Championship sides looking at Wood - Wolves, Boro and unsure who third is.

Much better off in the Championship at this stage imo.

third club would most probably be Millwall or Huddersfield. I would take Boro myself, but would need to meet the gaffers family first.

I'd like to think he might get loaned out for one more season in the Championship, kick ass there and come back next season as a squad regular.  I'm sure Pearson will get sacked during the season which might work in his favour.

he did tweet that he was off to Bangkok tomorrow. But I find a lot of tweeting about stuff like that makes a move ominous.

at least his price has doubled to 2 million quid where ever he does end up....

Rumours circulating in the UK that Wigan are seriously looking at Chris.....will post anything more definite if/when it comes up

Maybe a career as a professional promotion machine isn't too bad..........given the cash it is worth in returning to the premier league and the parachute payments he can gobble up going from team to team Chris can be a never ending hero in the championship rather than a bench warming fringer in the EPL.

There are plenty of players in that position, and I don't think it's a bad career to have. He could go to somewhere like Switzerland if he wanted a shot at playing CL or EL football, but the money is probably better in the Championship and given his age he probably still has a shot at the EPL, just not this season.

Didn't Celtic have a sniffle around Wood once upon a time? There are so many European options outside of the EPL to consider - I am biased but the training and support he would get in the Bundesliga might be better than being a less coveted trading card in the English system - Woodsey has never had a team properly commit to him because he is too young and too easy to sell.

Championship > SPL

is that a greater than symbol or an arrow leading from one to the other?

Celtic is better than playing in the championship in my opinion any other club in the SPL and that is about right. Still think he is a decent shot at game time. Nugent did alright last time round but half his goals came from the spot his record in the seasons prior to last year are on par with wood. Vardy was decent as well but he was playing in the conference just 2 seasons ago so you wouldn't say he is more experienced thatn woodsy. Uloa seems to be scoring at a similar rate to woods at championship level as well. If they buy some one else he might be in trouble but I wouldn't say any strikers in the squad are all that much better than woodsy. Should at least be used as a weapon of the bench especialy if they play 2 up front
over 11 years ago

Wtf the SPL is a shit now. Celtic are ok, everyone is a league level.

He is the second most selected forward in the Foxes team, so a fare few think he will be getting some time (could be that he is just cheap though)

but he does seem to be getting a bit of time in preseason and seems to be doing alright, maybe he will get that starting position.

led the line with Nugent and played 58 minutes in a pre-season match with Walsall, LCFC winning 3-2 after a late winner.

Leicester forum convinced Chris is not only going to wolves this week but has been sold for about 2.5 million pounds, not going out on loan. Will be his 8th club in England since joining WBA.

"Jackett meanwhile also confirmed widespread reports suggesting Wolves have an interest in Leicester striker Chris Wood.

“We have made enquiries and we are in conversation but it is a long way off being sealed,” he said.

“And I don’t want to talk too much about another team’s players.

“We have made an approach but there is a long way to go before sealing him as a Wolves player.

“We haven’t had the green light to speak to the player yet but it is one we are pursuing.

“I’ve been concentrating on the game today and people behind the scenes have been working at it rather than me.”
