Im ot in NZ at the moment.....can any one say if Woodsy's goal scoring feats are making it onto the TV news in NZ?
Would be great for the image of NZ football for a kiwi boy to be banging in goals at a top level in Europe.
None from what I've seen and I watch the news most nights
I have seen at least one clip on the TV3 news, I think it was after the last-gasp goal in the Europa league.  They showed the goal and discussed his recent goal-scoring form.  It was great to see.

A bit disingenuous to call the Championship a top level in Europe.

The Europa League could be seen as top level football in Europe.

No it couldn't. It's a second rate competition for starters.

Three for me, and two for them.

some quality teams still play in it though.

Some awful teams play in it too. Birmingham and Celtic are shining examples of that.

Spurs, Atletico and Udinese are the only decent sides in it. Otherwise it's second rate.

Three for me, and two for them.

Well obviously it's second rate if the premier competition is the Champs league ,that would indeed rate it second !
Agree with you about Celtic though!!

When Fulham don't try in it, you know it's second rate

Fulham don't try in anything though. Ever.

Three for me, and two for them.

Some other decent teams: Lazio, Schalke, PSG, Hannover, Sporting Lisbon, Athletic Bilbao. The Russian pair of Lokomotive Moscow and Rubin Kazan aren't too bad, neither are PSV, FC Twente. A lot of decent teams.

Fair to say EPL and UCL snob?

Fair to say you can't help but chuck your two cents in again regarding one of my posts?

Yeah, a bit of trolling. Still, think my point stands that there are decent teams in the competition so don't see it as second rate.

It's not second-rate, but neither is it top level, as was originally suggested.

Yeah, some groups have two teams could say are top level but every group has at least one team that is clearly not.

1.5-rate?

Its the  second tier comp for club teams so depending on how good they were in domestic league and how far down the cutoff is you can get good teams in..and when u throw in Cup winners.aka Boro a few years ago you get the hopefuls who outperform their expectations. I think its a great comp...

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Good to see him start and get a goal. He's been running off the bench lately.

I think he came off injured, but haven't seen anymore.

I also think that B'ham are still in the Europa League, so can look forward to a game or two in Manchester.

Pretty shocking how teams have to travel to remote places in Europe - hope the Brummies can find it.

20 mins off the bench this time for a 1 all draw, birmingham won a penalty at the 93 min mark

A decision is expected in the next few days on whether his loan will be extended with them

Wonder if he might be brought back to the first team, they arent scoring many...

"Turning to the loan situations of Guirane N'Daw and Chris Wood, Hughton is hopeful that he will be able to extend both of their existing deals. If so, he hopes that they will be available for the Wolves match.  "With N'Daw we're very close to finalising that particular one and with Chris Wood we've been in regular dialogue with West Brom," he added.  "We've done everything the right way and we're very hopeful that something can happen there."
