so if he goes for 15 mill and Cambridge, Hamilton, West Bromwich, Leicester are his previous clubs, they all stand to get a quarter of 750 thou which is 187,500 pounds. Which is $NZ337,500. Which ain't bad.

5% of the 5% for each year at ages 12-15, 10% of the 5% for each year at ages 16-23. So 0.25% of 15 mil if he was at your club when he was 12, its a very handy pay out for a club.

I think it was from forum for one of his former clubs but I always remember him being described as a poacher trapped in a target man's body.

The other aspect of this that the article doesn't go into is that Hudson isn't just using Wood wrong, he's using our other attacking talents (Rojas, Thomas especially) wrong as well.

Huddersfield just forked out 10 mill squids to Man C for Mooy ( more than City paid to buy Melbourne so some profit made there!) So is our Chris next?

4-3-3, sit deep, counterattack at pace down the wings, try to keep the ball on the ground, and Wood to basically just lurk for the side foot finish in the box. That plays into his skills, the fact that our central midfield is weak, and our quality wingers. You could have your DM (Bill or Themi) drop into the backline and the wide forwards track back and it could almost be a 5-4-1 if we were really under the pump.

Chris Wood has no plans to leave Leeds United next season and is looking forward to working with new boss Thomas Christiansen.

He said: “It was a great season last season, both personally and for the team. We put Leeds back on the map, which was a great thing for the club.

“We’ve done fantastically well as a team and as a unit. It’s a great appointment of the new manager, an exciting new manager who did well last season. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can offer in pre-season and we go from there.”

Making the higher ups happy, or is he genuine? I'm nervous because the reason Wood scored so many is because Monk channeled everything through Wood, dunno if it will be the same now

This. With the current squad I would have Themi and Bill in midfield.

As a LUFC and NZ sport fan I like it a lot.  Will also help to keep the players warm up north during the winter.

LEEDS REJECT £16M WOOD OFFER

Leeds have rejected a bid of £16m for striker Chris Wood, according to Sky sources.

The offer is from an unnamed Premier League club.

One source has told us this evening that Burnley have also had a £12m bid rejected for the player, although we understand this latest offer is not from the Clarets.

Burnley have yet to confirm they have made a bid.

Whilst it's great to have Reid flying Kiwi flag in EPL, would be fantastic to see Wood being a regular starting striker in Prem League, and banging in a few goals. Whole different sense of joy & excitement. Fingers crossed

Sure, I just don't see Leeds accepting a bid unless its massively overpaying for him. He has scored 26 of their 60 goals this season, a promotion chasing team just doesn't give up the main source of their goals easily. Tho I could see him going as a deadline day signing if a Premiership team is desperate and just throws money at Leeds for him.

From "Stuff" - English media are reporting that All Whites striker Chris Wood is heading back to the Premier League.

According to The Mirror the 25-year-old has agreed to join Burnley in a deal worth more than $26.3 million, although there has been no confirmation from Burnley or his current club Leeds United.

Wood has been hotly pursued by a host of clubs during the current transfer window after scoring 30 goals in all competitions for Leeds during the 2016-17 season, and it is being reported that Burnley have won the race for the big Kiwi, hoping that the Hamilton product can replace Andre Gray, who recently joined Watford.

Burnley finished 16th in the Premier League last season, only narrowly avoiding relegation.

Nothing in that article says Leeds have accepted a bid yet, so the thread name change is a bit premature. Not saying it won't happen, just it is not over the line yet.
