Kayne Vincent will still be playing Thai Premier League next season, as he has signed with TPL champions Buriram Utd.

They have won three of the last four league titles and have some decent imports there, suggesting some good money behind the team.

Star import players seem to be Venezuelan international centre-back Andres Tunez signed from Celta Vigo in la Liga (82 appearances there); Javier Patino (21 goals this season), a duel Spanish-Philippines citizen and Philippines international striker who has played 66 games in the Spanish Segunda Div. mainly for Cordoba; South Korean international midfielder Kim Hyeung Bum (former K-League and Asian champs League winner); Rafael Coelho, a striker from Brazil's top flight who has played recently in the Chinese Super League for major club Guangzhou R & F and Spanish defender David Rochela from Deportivo la Coruna.

Former Auckland and national under-20 footballer Kayne Vincent has been added to the All Whites squad for their upcoming two-match tour to China and Thailand.

The 26-year-old forward, who has vast experience playing throughout Asia, joins the team for internationals against China on November 15 and Thailand on November 19 (NZ time).

All Whites coach Anthony Hudson said that Vincent was among a number of players on the radar and the opportunity has arisen for him to dip his toes into the national team environment.

"Kayne is a player we have known about for a while who has recently signed to play in the Premier League in Thailand with a top rating club," Hudson said.

"We are taking advantage of the fact he is playing there to add him to our squad. We want to see more of him and the best way to do that is to immerse him into our squad and our system for this tour."

The former national under-20 representative played for several Auckland clubs including Waitakere United and was involved their campaign in the FIFA Club World Cup in 2008.

He has enjoyed widespread playing experience throughout Asia, including the J-League in Japan, the I-League in India, the Singapore Premier League as well as off-season stints with Melbourne Knights in the Victorian league.

Vincent took up a contract in the Thailand Premier League this year and has been signed by top club Buriram United for 2015. Buriram United have won the Thailand Premier League title in three of the last four years.

The All Whites leave for their tour on Monday.

You have to be fucking kidding me. This guy has less talent than Krishna. If you are telling me that this guy is the answer, over the likes of Brockie, Wood, Kosta, Marco, Thomas, Boyd well I'll eat my fucking hat. Id rather see him go back to Rory, Smeltz etc cause they have infinitely more talent that his guy.

I think I might come out of retirement and try get a gig cause it looks like anyone can get a shirt for a momento.

Rory and Shane are too old for what he wants for 2018 and he'll know the Thai team - seems like a no lose situation

I guess the fact that he is already in Thailand was a huge advantage for him. Be interesting to see if they take him to China with them. Lol, I wouldn't have had long to hold my breath. I do however agree with JV, he is definitely not talented enough to offer NZ anything, if I was Hudson I'd keep looking.

Hudson said that because he's already there, he's going to include him. Whats wrong with that? Ricki had probably seen him play dozens of times for all we know, so may not have picked him based on that alone. Hudson said he'll look at everyone and he seems to be keeping his word, which is good. If i had it my way I would make a point to not pick anyone who wasnt playing professionally, just to see how serious they really are about playing international football.

Its funny, he apparently isnt that good but still seems to make a living from football, and is committed enough to the game to get out there and find something. Yet we have all these 'talented' players in the ASB Prem like Clapham who dream of playing pro football, but never do. Do kiwis think the only path to playing pro these days is via the Nix? Or do they think theyre just too good to head out to countries like India or Thailand?

Good variety of finishes, and some absolute belters - 3:30 and 4:20ish.

Could do worse than pick players with experience playing in Asia.

It's a good point, but I find it amusing that whenever there's a "bolter" into the All Whites or Phoenix or whatever the Smeltzy example is brought up.

That's my point, it would have been the fact that he's in Thailand that he was a late inclusion. It's good thinking on Hudson's part but IMO he is not the goods. I could be wrong as he may have matured in to a good player but I still think if you put him up against class opposition he will struggle. The fact that he's only been a playing squad member in lesser leagues (India, Singapore, Thailand) suggests this. If he had the goods, surely he would have played more in the J2 side he was in after all he is part Japanese.

I cant really answer that last part about playing in Japan more as Ive never actually seen him play, just highlights. I also dont know the circumstances around his time there. Maybe he wasnt playing there for the same reason Kenny isnt playing for us at the moment.

Had had one poor club showing in England and a couple of quite good seasons as a striker IIRC.

Why is it amusing? It's a fair example of what can happen you give a player a shot.

No harm in seeing if Vincent is also an outlier as well though, in the context of these games and Hudson's plans

I can't remember seeing Boyd score goals of that quality before and Brockie has struggled internationally so I have no issues with a guy playing regular first team professional football being given a shot. The league may be questionable but he looks like an all rounder ( good in the air, wheels and can shoot from distance).

...and not Kris Bright !!! Will Vincent be the new Kris Bright?

The younger generation wouldn't realise the extent to which Smeltz was truly a mediocre goalscorer in the old Aussie NSL 1999 - 2004 for Brisbane strikers, Adelaide City and Adelaide United - he managed only eight goals. Was aged 18 - 22 at the time.

He wouldn't even have aroused much interest in the Football Kingz.

yeah but it's highlights. It's supposed to look that way. If I did a highlights clip for Boyd, he would look outstanding too. Its what he does the rest of the time and outside the highlights reel.
