Has anyone else had trouble playing the vid as I can't get it to play.  Normally I can play TV3 things here in the UK but is this vid regionally locked?

Said Merrick of his new attacking acquisition: "He has tremendous pace, he cuts inside, he cuts outside, he's a good dribbler, good one-on-one and he's really fit. I think at this time of the year, to have someone fresh like that, is just such a good thing."

Sounds like Burns?

Will be good to see him in action next weekend.

I hope he gets a run, he has a lot of potential, is quick and could fit right into our system

he's more of a winger rather than a wide forward though, right?

Not much difference tbf...

In our system he fills one of krishna/burns' roles.

I can see why Ernie signed him. He reminds me of an earlier unpolished version of Krishna. I think he showed quite a bit of promise yesterday, but even if you reduce that down to him showing ONLY ONE thing, that thing was surely pace. And that is very valuable. I'm interested to see him in 12 months time.

I think he has some promise. That cross he put in to Krishna when he first came on was very nice (and Krishna should have buried it).

I wonder how much cajouling Hudson is doing to get him to wear the Fern?

With respect to Kosta, Thomas and Rojas, do we need him? I'm not saying we do not but where would he play in that team? We have trouble fitting in those 3 we have now at the pointy end (along with Wood and McGlinchey) and I don't think you can argue that he is an upgrade on those 3.

He is not surplus but you would think to pick him, he would want to think he is integral since he has stated that he is a true blue socceroo (and then said he would not mind Hudson calling or words to that effect). I don't think he will play international football as it currently stands at the moment unless something changes with him, his form or the others.

Yeah, he's hardly a player we need - same with Clut.

But with building Depth and them still growing as players could bringing them into the fold not prove beneficial in the long run, not saying right now or even this world cup but in 7 years they will still be around their peak in playing prowess?? Hudson is claiming he wants depth and these are two players that are getting more and more 1st team time in a pro environment. just my rambling thoughts anyway

And end up with a squad of about a thousand?

Needs to settle on a wider squad and work within that to gain some consitency, unless form drops off or a bolter appears from outside the wider squad

Like I said just my opinion but wouldn't a bigger squad be good for the selection process creating depth and competition? Pretty sure the like of Columbia etc who are relatively small but still seem to do ok don't just have 25 players to choose from. If we want to compete where we want to (world cup etc) then we need to take it as serious as possible using any resources available that includes players. Once again just my opinion but it's starting to get off topic so I will leave it from here. Peace I'm owt

If Thomas and Rojas do kick on to bigger and brighter things then there is no guarentee they are always going to be available (ala smith and Reid).

The more the better

This is why when everyone's season is over Hudosn needs to get a squad of 40 together for some trial games. Then he should cut that down to about 25 and say "these are my guys." We play 6 or 7 internationals a year. We need to be putting our best team out there from now on. We need to give players time to develop combinations. Picking Appiah seems like a waste of a chance to get Rojas, Thomas and Wood playing together. I haven't watch the Korean game but I think our attacking players are good but our combinations have been poor in the past.

Krishna 15 months ago... vs. Krishna today.

Don't just players on wher they are today. They can develop.

I agree Jeff but as we just saw two of the players mentioned were unavailable and if Roja's career picks back up he might start calling in "sick" too (ala Nelsen, Reid etc).  Nothing wrong with a bit of depth especially if they lose form.  Too many AWs get called up when they are out of form as we have no one else of their caliber.

I also don't think he'd be good enough to wear green and gold.

Technically yes, but may not consider himself one. The real question is, was he good enough? I didn't really see much of him at the nix, unsure how he is going wherever he is.
