Is he a Kiwi???

Depends if you count Auckland as being part of NZ or not.

Surely if the chance came to play international football, you would make yourself a Kiwi?

The key to this is in bold!

That's a tough one

I always feel a lot of admiration for obviously limited footballers who nonetheless manage to carve out a professional career. Good on him.

You know we belong together...

He makes me think that maybe I could have been a pro if I had a cooler name.

Reminds me of Albany United. No football knowledge of players whatsoever, just very fast.

At the end of last season he was starting to not be totally awful. Having a run of regular game time does help players development, something he never has really had anywhere.

I don't think even Hudson was that stupid... but then again there is Dyer but he seems to have come to his senses on that one.

Grumpy old bastard alert

I too dream of being covered in gold one day!

Also, that press release reads just too darn well! You can tell CCM are over the moon at receiving some much needed $ from Korea!

Has he scored a goal yet?

Appiah has actually been decent this season. He is A-league quality for a weak team like CCM and a decent bench option for top teams.

Here are his stats, for a striker with pace, they aren't good so I can't understand how a club can pay to have him. (these don't include FFA Cup stats so he has another two from one game there as well)

Really doubt it as IIRC he came to us as a free agent.  Usually you only get re-sale kick backs in a contract when you're selling a player to another team.

There are the solidarity payments system that probably will trigger some payments but I think he was too old by the time he was signed by us.

How’s he managed to pull that one.  Can’t see him lasting long in Korea.

He's been great for CCM lately, but I assume they have only seen him play the last half dozen games. Credit to Paul Okon here

He’s gone to the same team as young Kiwi Lee Ho Jae who’s in the youth setup. I’ll try find updates on him, his  thread is a few pages back

But anyone who has seen him play this season knows he is a lot better. He still doesn't have the finishing and probably never will. There are wingers for good teams who only score a goal every 6 or 7. Appiah could probably get to that sort of ratio for us or CCM.

What are the chances of Appiah appearing in Spain for the Canada match?
