Big league game this weekend Olympiakos (1st) hosting Panathinaikos (2nd).

Really Hope Marko has a strong second half of the season. How great would it be for him to return to play for this flying Forest side in Europe next season!

Or at the very least get a loan move which suits him better and allows him to play and develop a lot more.

Unused sub in a 1-1 draw
Olympiakos went down to 10 men late in the first half when leading 1-0

Can Stamenic make it a consecutive trifecta of double league & Cup wins, in 3 different countries?

Cup quarter final, 2nd leg. Olympiakos host Panathinaikos.
1-1 after leg 1. Winner will play AEK Athens in the semis.

https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2025/02/05/greece/cup/olympiakos-cfp/panathinaikos-fc/4543553/

If Olympiakos are to win the Cup, it will be the hard route.
Panathinaikos 3rd in the Superliga and AEK Athens 2nd.

Double chance remains on. Olympiakos a late 94th winner for 1-0 (2-1 on agg) QF win.

But for the 2nd game in a row no Stamenic.

Olympiakos into a 2 legged Cup semi final against AEK Athens.

Maybe he like Garbett could yet get a move to a country where the window has yet to close, like Switzerland

Injury return?
On the pine in a 2-1 win, after missing last few match day squads.

Double is still on for Olympiakos (1st). They are 2 pts clear of AEK Athens (2nd)
Play AEK first leg of Cup semi final midweek.

Olympiakos with a busy schedule, so timely that Stamenic is back. They have drawn Norway's Bodø / Glimt in the Europa League R16 (2 legs). Favourable draw as the Norwegians are still out of season. Winner to play winner of Viktoria Plzen  verus Lazio in the quarters.

Flying start for Olympiakos who lead 3-0 after 22 mins.

Stamenic on the pine. A 3rd consecutive league and cup double on for him

From memory teams in other semi weaker than AEK

Edit - now 5-0 at 72 mins

Stamenic on at 72 mins (5-0). Finished 6-0. Crazy result with AEK just 2 pts behind Olympiakos in the league

And they play in the league this weekend. Shell shocked AEK hosting

Good for him to get some action - needs to be playing more ahead of march qualifiers.

Big form turnaround from the Cup game, but Olympiakos (1st) still get the win.
This time they need a 90th min goal, for 1-0.

They now go 5 pts clear of AEK Athens (2nd). One more round and then top 8/bottom 6 split.

Stamenic an unused sub. Hopefully he gets some mins midweek coming up in Norway.

Europa League R16 first leg. Olympiakos travel to the hipsters team
Bodø / Glimt
in Norway.

Bodø / Glimt are out of season - Norwegian league starts 31st March - but I see they have been playing UEL games through the Norway winter.

Even hosting games in Bodo which is towards the northern part of Norway. Not sure how they do that as doesn't look like they have a covered stadium. Hope Marko is rugged up.

Winner of this R16 (2 legs) tie plays winner of Viktoria Plzen verus Lazio in the quarters.

Very tough conditions up there in early March. Roma were famously smashed 6-0 (or 6-1) which prompted Mou to have yet another fit about the weather and their "plastic pitch".
It won't be an easy game for sure, even if Bodo are not in season.

Olympiakos fare little better than Roma, losing 3-0. Makes it tough to save the tie in the 2nd leg

The Greeks had been unbeaten since October

Stamenic will certainly be one guy, keen to get into camp with the AWs. Just to play football again.

Not that cold (9 degrees Celsius) in Bodo. So no real excuses for Olympiakos.

Olympiakos juggling a heavy schedule. Home leg of Europa League tie with

His lack of game time there has been remarked a bit on the forest forum. General consensus is he and a number of others need to be shifted on as they expect all quality of the squad to be increased if they make champions league football.

He must of played well, might start to get more game time and win the fans over
IMG_7755.jpeg 1.19 MB

The lad that usurped Marko in the starting XI a while back - Christos Mouzakitis - is being courted by several Premier League clubs, so it's been a bit of a battle to get back into the starting XI off the back of his form earlier in the season. In saying that though, his form has dropped off a little bit of late (to be expected from an 18 year old).

Hopefully Marko continues to see more game time for the remainder of the Greek season - We need him to be firing heading into 2026.

Remarkably, he's still on track to win three league titles, in three seasons, at three separate top tier European clubs. Quite the unique achievement should it eventuate.

Nottingham Forest should take the hint and get him back to England for next season! 😉

More than that he's on a strong track for 3 domestic league & cup doubles, in 3 different countries.

Olympiakos are already basically into the Greek Cup final. Up 6-0 after their first leg semi against AEK Athens. Stamenic should get a run in the 2nd leg away at AEK after the international break.

In the final they will meet either Asteras Tripolis (8th in the Super League) or OFI (6th). OFI won 1-0 at Asteras Tripolis in the first leg of their semi.

Olympiakos only beat OFI 1-0 this morning. But they likely rotated in a few guys (incl Stamenic) with an eye to Wednesday's Europa League game against Bodo / Glimt. They with be strong favourites in the Greek Cup final.

They are also 7 pts clear atop the Super League, which splits into top 8, bottom 6 post the International break.

Basically Olympiakos at short odds for the league/cup double. Even shorter if the Norwegians (3-0 up from leg 1) bundle them out of the Europa League this week, and that distraction ends.
