Full game as  HB Køge (10th), draw 1-1 at Lyngby (3rd)
24 Sep 20:54
Another full 90 for Stamenic, as HB Køge upset 2nd placed Fredericia 3-0.

Køge up to 7th for the time being, jostling for position in a crowded bottom half of the table. Only 4 points separates 7th through 12th in Division 1 as it stands at the moment.

Subbed off at 84 mins in a 2-0 loss at Esbjerg (7th). Score 1-0 when he came off.

A young Aussie Con Ouzounidis (previously at Everton youth) with first goal for Esbjerg.

HB Køge
9th.

This kid actually excites me more then any of the current crop of young guys in and around the AW.

Suspect he's going to have his hands fall tomorrow, esp without Singh as an outlet in the heat. But all part of the learning experience.

Hopefully Thomas puts his hand up to be available in the Nov window. Stamenic, Garbett, Bell & Singh will learn alot, from someone who has been in the Eredivisie 8 years now.

I've always had the opinion that Marko has the highest ceiling of any NZ player in history (bar possibly Rufer, feel free to guess which one). Big call, I know. Been a huge proponent of his for years, much to the chagrin of his detractors, but yeah I ain't stopping

I'd be very surprised if he plays one game in the EPL (or any of the big 5 leagues), let alone as many as Chris Wood has.

Based on his performances with the fern so far- he looks a very handy prospect!

I agree that he has bags of talent. But unfortunately I don't think that's always enough. To 'make it big' you need a series of things to go your way. You need luck and to stay injury free, to find yourself in the right place at the right time (right club, coach etc), you need to have someone to advise you who isn't only looking at their bottom line, you need consistency, dedication, a desire to improve over and over and over throughout your career.
So in short it's impossible to say how far he'll go. But I sure hope many of the above things go his way and that he reaches as high a celining as he can because he's exciting to watch and could do so well for NZ

He's 20 and look as assured as anyone else on the pitch.

After this tour Marko did his chances no harm. He has exceptional vision for the pocket of space between the lines and can play his way out of tight situations as calmly as anyone.

I think with him playing alongside Thomas and in behind Singh with Bell at 6 we have a midfield that will be primed for next year provided they all get minutes.

Marko is technically as good as any kiwi I’ve seen at that age. If he can mature like Bell and keep getting stronger he’ll be class.

That 4 man diamond formation shapes as an exciting long term midfield for the AWs. Nothing close to it in the history of the AWs I'd dare say. Thomas the 'veteran' at only 26. Who knows this early where the ceiling is for Singh, Bell & Stamenic.

Marko starting as HB Køge (9th) host Nykøbing (6th).

Full game in a 1-0 win over Nykøbing (6th).
HB Køge up to 7th.

HB Køge play Helsingør late Nov, 2nd last game before the winter break. Game to watch.

Presume injured as subbed off early at 33 mins, as HB Køge (7th) lose 1-0 at Hvidovre (3rd).

Hopefully nothing serious for Stamenic.

01 Nov 21:38
Not in match day squad for a 2-0 win over Horsens (5th).

HB Koge 7th
19 Nov 20:34
83 mins as HB Køge (7th) beat Esbjerg (8th), 3-0.

Same score when he came off.

Their season has definitely picked up since his arrival.

Full game in a 3-3 draw against Lyngby (3rd). HB Køge (7th) score their 3rd goal late at 95 mins.

Draw does Stamenic's Kiwi mates at Helsingør a favour, Lyngby (3rd) will finish year, 3 pts behind Helsingor.

Loan deal at HB Køge seems good fit for him. Lots of playing time. Winter break now until late February.

Meanwhile Stamenic's parent club Copenhagen are 2nd in the Danish Superliga, and still going in the UEFA Conference League comp.

Unless his loan deal gets extended, that's his last appearance for Køge and he'll be returning to Copenhagen. Reckon they might look to get him some experience at a top-flight club, if not use him in the first team

just, um, wow... it's not like it's a lazy journo, that's a release from the national body...

Hilarious - NZF, always lowering the bar!

Good news - he's returned from his loan, and I hear he resumes first-team training with Copenhagen tomorrow. Definitely in their plans

Started and played the full 90 minutes in Copenhagen's first friendly against Hvidovre (Helsingor's title rivals in the second tier) in a 3-1 win. One of three players not subbed off at half-time

Copenhagen play Helsingor in another friendly next week, just prior the AWs games in UAE. Result to watch out for.

Let’s change his team mods

Auckland will rise once more

FC Copenhagen with a 3-2 win over Helsingor in a friendly next week.

Unfortunately seems like none of Stamenic, Just or McCowatt were involved. All already or enroute to the UAE I presume.

Liam Jordan with first goal for Helsingor.

Sounds like he's back with HB Køge.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/nz-teams/127634354/teenage-midfielder-marko-stamenic-already-a-key-figure-for-the-all-whites

Right now, he is playing at HB Køge who are sitting in the middle of the table in the Danish second-tier, the same league All Whites team-mates Elijah Just and Callum McCowatt play in for leaders FC Helsingør.

He has returned there after being back at his parent club, FC Copenhagen, during the mid-season break, and will be hoping he can show enough over the second half of the season to play his way into the top-tier side’s first-team plans for next season.

From Flying Kiwis. Mods back to HB Køge, please.

FCK sports director Peter Christiansen: “Marko gained a really positive development during his first stay at HB Køge, where he played a lot of senior matches. The goal of this agreement is for him to continue that development in a good environment, and then we look forward to him returning this summer.”

HB Køge director Per Rud: “We are really happy that FCK has agreed that Marko can continue with us. It is optimal for us. Marko showed his high level in the autumn, where he did well and made his mark on the team. He knows the club and is a good boy who fits in well here, so it is the best possible solution for us.”

Full game & a yellow in a 2-1 win over Jammerbugt (11th).
Jammerbugt down to 10 men from 62nd min.

HB Køge 6th, with 3 more rounds before Danish 2nd tier splits into top 6 & bottom 6. Last of those 3 games is 18th March, so not sure HB Køge will agree to release Stamenic to AWs before that date.

Same with Helsingør (1st) and Just plus McCowatt. In fact Helsingør almost certainly won't release Just & McCowatt early. They are chasing promotion, and points to date carry over into the top 6.

Whilst HB Køge may release Stamenic early if their top 6 status is confirmed early. 19 pts behind Helsingør & 14 pts behind the teams 2nd/3rd - they are not a realistic promotion shot.

Edit - good news for Helsingør. Hvidovre (3rd) lost today & Lyngby (2nd on GD) were held to a draw. So Helsingør have a nice 5 point gap.

Starting for a trip to bottom team Hobro.

HB Køge are 6th, and a win today will see them one step closer to locking that spot in for top 6/bottom 6 split in a few weeks (3 regular rounds to go). Nykøbing 7th are only a point behind.

HB Køge may agree to release Stamenic early for OFC tourney if their top 6 spot gets locked in over next say 2 rounds. They ain't really a serious promotion contender (19 pts off Helsingør in top spot), but making top 6 would remove any relegation anxiety (8n pts currently ahead of Hobro).

Edit - full game in a 1-0 loss. HB Køge will be disappointed, with Hobro down to 10 men from 45th min, but despite playing whole 2nd half down a man they grabbed a 93rd min winner.

13 Mar 15:51
Full game in a 0-0 draw against Fremad Amager (11th).

Another missed opportunity for HB Køge (7th), who remain 1 point off 6th, with 1 round to go before top 6/bottom 6 split.

After that last game this Friday, Stamenic should be free to join the AWs in Qatar, making him a contender for game 2 against Fiji.
18 Mar 16:33
Starting as HB Køge (7th) travel to Fredericia (5th). A draw maybe enough for
HB Køge
to lock in a top 6 spot. Last game before top 6/bottom 6 split.

18 Mar 19:21 · edited 18 Mar 19:30 · History
Finishes 2-2 with Fredericia. Full game Stamenic. Wouldn't surprise to see him start against Fiji straight away.

Unfortunately even with 6th placed Nykøbing losing, HB Køge stay 7th on GD, and so will be in the bottom 6 split.

Though they should be reasonably safe from Relegation, currently being 7 & 9 points clear of the bottom 2 teams in the Danish 2nd tier.
