To early to make a call on whether someone can reach a higher level - the kid is still a kid.

Also, having come back form injury he might be keen to see if he can lock down a role to play in Fulham this season. Having made the bench a couple of times prior to his knock he must be in and around their thinking.

No question he's keeping his options open in case he decides he's too good for NZ one day.
But the lad is almost 21 and without a senior pro appearance at any level so realistically you have to think playing for Brazil is a stretch

I understand why he’s keeping his options open, even at almost 21. Missed a lot of time through injury, and was on a brilliant path before that, so would be backing himself to continue where he started, get a regular EPL place under his belt, then anything could happen from there. Think he’d value one England cap over fifty with us.

Just stoked a guy like him as even considered us as a viable option to begin with!

1 cap in a no doubt meaningless friendly vs potentially multiple WC games? really?

World cup is now less than 2 years away - surely that's gotta be a big factor in his decision, he'll be 22 by that point
Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.

I notice he hasn’t been called up for the Olympics, and isn’t listed as non-traveling reserve.
Punishment for not being available for the All Whites?
Also a huge fan of his and would love to see him pull on the white shirt

His Club wouldn't release him.

He got some good mins for Fulham in their pre season last year, sat on the bench verus Everton in Round 1, then got injured.
We wait to see what happens over the next few weeks.

Fulham are expected to travel to Portugal for a pre-season camp. They will also face Hoffenheim in Germany in a friendly

Midfielder Joao Palhinha is expected to leave the club after Fulham agreed a fee for him with Bayern Munich.

There’s no way that Matt Dibley-Dias is going to be sold by Fulham but there is significant loan out potential here for the captain of their Under-21s squad... who turns 21 in October. He’s getting too old to not have played senior football and if Fulham rate him as highly as they seem to, he’s on a first team contract after all, then that’s got to be a priority pretty soon. The last time he went on international duty he came back needing surgery (potentially scuppering a January loan-out). We’ll see what happens there... the alternative is that they want to keep him close for first team purposes. They did just sell João Palhinha to Bayern Munich so every other midfielder at the club just moved up the queue.

The other question here is whether we’ll see ever MDD represent Aotearoa, since this tournament was long see as the beacon to aim for with the multi-eligible midfielder. Wouldn’t stew on that idea too much though. If he’s on the fringes of a Premier League side then he’s good enough to make All Whites squads (and the other four nations he’s eligible for are: Brazil, Portugal, and England... where there’s a whole lot more competition). If he wants to play international football then it’ll happen with New Zealand. There’s always the 2026 World Cup – which, unlike the Olympics, would actually lock him in for Aotearoa. Keep that idea in mind for when we get to the alternates.

Matt Dibley-Dias loan move incoming. 👀

On the move to a League One club - Also been told it was this loan club, rather than Fulham that blocked an Olympic call-up.

First proper loan move for MDD, so was gutted to miss out on selection but also wary that he needs to be playing first team football to progress. So no pre season tour with Fulham this year unfortunately, but hopefully a whole lot of first team minutes! 🤞

Pretty average for a league one club to stop a young player (on loan no less) from going to the olympics

Joining Nik Tzanev on loan at Northampton Town in League One.

Hopefully he can twist his arm about throwing in his hat with us!

Good news.

Bugger that apparently they stopped him going to the Olympics, but it's time for him to be playing men's football. League One a decent level, though thankfully it won't be grab the attention of Portugal, Brazil and England. Hopefully he quickly gets game time at Northampton.

I can see Bindon in the Championship or higher before the end of the season.

Northampton Town have beaten Wrexham, Burton Albion and Port Vale to his signing.

I would have liked to see him at Burton Albion with Max, a slightly more persuasive opinion.

He could have had Deklan Wynne for company too, down to League Two.

Northampton is less then an hour's drive from his home in London so makes sense.

Interesting flag choice too 😂

Happy to see this move. Needs to get good gametime and show what he can offer at senior level.

Nothing like a 46 game campaign in League One to cater to that need.

At least these guys got the memo!

Wrexham would have been an interesting move, I quite like watching that show. Imagine the profile and exposure to what would amount to a worldwide audience he would have received!

Gets settled in and has a solid 2nd half of the season in L1, comes to the realisation he's not going to the world cup with Brazil, declares for NZ, lights up the world cup and has contract offers from around the world where he chooses to sign for Barca so he can link up with his new best mate Alex Paulsen

No D-D and Tzanev on the pine as NT lose 1-0

MDD was missing through illness. Sounds like a lot of it going around the UK & Europe at the moment.

Hopefully back on board for next week. 🤞

Yep, senior debut.

Long time coming. Injury wrecked that opportunity last season. Good for him to finally get it under his belt this morning (despite the loss...)

I'm starting to think he's not much cop. Not been sighted yet at Northampton Town and they're not the best team in L1.
