Of course, McGlinchey briefly played in this league when was about 20 before moving to the A-League. He probably would've struggled if had stayed, was a smart move to go to A-League which isn't as physical. More experienced now though.

Would be up against two former EPL midfielders, Charlie Adam & Graham Dorrans for Dundee.

"decade’s worth of performances" seemed like an apt description.

it's an amateur club and they no longer play at Hampden Park (it was a bit weird watching them with 500 others in a 50000 seat stadium)  they are now at Lesser Hampden which is the small ground next door

oh didn't realise that earlier this year they voted to ditch the amateur status and now offer part time contracts

If we all agree that 4th tier in Germany is pub football, then 4th tier in Scotland won't be any better.

I've played pub football in Scotland and playing for someone like Queens Park would have been a dream for many of my teammates and opposition!

Surprised to see Simon Murray (the ginger) down in League 2. Was never great, but played a lot in SPL. They must have a bit of ambition to try go up this year, though if that geezer Ray McKinnon is managing them they'll probably get relegated.

After being an unused sub last week, started and played 68 minutes in 0-1 win vs Elgin to go top of the table.

Career over? Looks like he hasn't played since was with Clyde in Scottish League One (3rd tier) back in May.

Those Scottish winters not so appealing after all. Age 35 now.

Perhaps he coaches the reserve side or similar. Can't imagine the money is that good, so what would the appeal be?

Perhaps he's a wine connoisseur. Weston is in the Hunter Valley, near Cessnock (inland from Newcastle). Wine growing and horse breeding area. Hot as a furnace in summer.

Be hard for Weemac to coach outside of Glasgow. No one would understand him!

But his career is obviously winding down, so maybe him and his wife have just decided rural NSW is the best lifestyle choice for them. They would know the area well from their years down the road in Gosford.

34 yr old Jeremy Brockie likely similar, playing for Edgeworth FC (near Newcastle) in the same comp - having pulled out of a VIC NPL gig in big city Melbourne last year.

And who knows the coin might be okay. Don't the better Northern League players get pretty well looked after.
