Decent contract extension for Bevan who's been signed up for the 2023 & 2024 seasons, with an option for 2025.

Hopefully his injury woes from last season are behind him as well.

Good start to the season for Bevan on a personal level. He opens the scoring for Cavalry, and gets an assist for a thunderbolt for his sides 2nd - But they still can't quite get the job done away at Forge FC. Finishes 2-2.

The goal

The assist

Good signs for him if he had only 13 touches the whole game but grabbed both a goal and assist.

Jesse Daley who made 50 appearances at the Roar over 3 seasons made his debut for Cavalary. Bit of a trend of guys discarded by their ALM clubs arriving in the CPL.

Myer makes the CPL team of the week for his goal and assist over the weekend. Good signs for him if he can keep injury free 🤞

Joined up top by former Adelaide & Perth player Pacifique Niyongabire, who is now a two cap Burundi International.

Bevan off at 69 mins (1-1). Jesse Daly comes on at same time.
Still 1-1 at 83 mins.

Winner to play lower level team TSS Rovers in the quarter finals. Rovers (play in a British Colombia League) upset CPL side Valour (Dyer's old team).

Edit - finished 1-1 end of NT. Pacific go on to win 5-3 on pens.
Same 2 teams go on to play a CPL game at same venue in a few days

Bevan was the one on the receiving end of the foul that saw the Vancouver player receive his marching orders...

Yeah, that was it...🙃

That is a harsh red card, looks like Bevan headed his shoulder... angle to the ref looked bad as if he had the elbow up, but it was extended beyond Bevan.

Bevan a full game, and Cavalry's 2nd goal (a pen) in a 2-2 draw with HFX Wanderers. Full game Jesse Daly.

The Canadian Premier League is tight this season.

Cavalry & Halifax are 6th and 7th respectively (of 8) both are undefeated through 5 games, both with 0-5-0 records.

Small sample size so far, but 10 of the 20 games in the CPL have ended in draws (50%). Compare that with the A-League figure for the 22/23 regular season which was 25% and the English Premier League to date which is 22.2%.

Anyway I digress in statistics goodness. Good to see Myer doing well over in Canada!

Ollie Bassett starting for Atletico Ottawa.

Edit - Bevan off at 82 mins in a 2-0 win. Full games Bassett & Daley.
Cavalry's first win of the season after 5 draws.

Wood, Greive, Mata & Waine all currently under injury clouds for the June friendlies. Though sounds like Mata is back training with Sligo.

Unlikely worst case scenario and all were unavailable in June, then Bevan would have to come into the mix.

Crossbar away from a first half hattrick, two tidy finishes, and the shot off the crossbar fell right to a teammate who tapped in for the third, not sure if that's a legitimate assist but well involved anyway.

Yipe gets a double in a 3-1 win, plus a yellow card.
It all happened in the first half, 3-1 after 28 mins.

Full game Bevan & Sandoval off at 88 mins for Vancouver FC.
