Yeah, Keane getting sacked came at a terrible time for him. Shows how tough it can be over there - sometimes things completely out of your control just don't go your way.

He's on championship wages (even at Plymouth) and he has championship ambitions but I'm not sure he's good enough at that level.  He just doesn't score enough goals, or make enough of an impact to justify that.  But he's got a great attitude and he'd be a good player to manage, gives you everything he's got

well he's a target man. PA have barely used him as such in the years he's been there plain and simple

We have used him in the roll. esp when Holloway was manager.  He formed a good partnership up front with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake before the club sold him in '07 (a great season to be an Argyle fan in London!).

he's holding on til summer when he's out of contract. He'll get picked up by a Championship or top League One side.

Goal!! Rory Fallon hits a very good right footed shot low through the middle from the centre penalty area (aprox. 6 yards) and scores!! Plymouth Argyle now leads 1 - 0

Just read an article that Plymouth have run out of money and can't pay their staff or players. They are talking receivership.10 million pounds needed.

Rory scored the only goal tonight to give Plymouth its third win in a row.  Hopefully we can avoid the drop.

And strikers Rory Fallon and Joe Mason were both injured against Rochdale, although they finished the match.

Fallon will be withdrawn from New Zealand's 18-strong squad for a friendly away to China this Friday.

Reid said: "Rory Fallon has got a groin injury so we are going to have to pull him out of the trip.

"He has had a problem with it, and we have been nursing him through it.

"But he said it was so sore today and it's a blow to us. We have just got to try to get him fit."

Did a professional journalist just compare Rory Fallon to Wayne Rooney.

Subbed off in the 83rd minute and his substitute paterson scored the second goal in a 2-0 win for Plymouth Argyle.

The article quoted in that (Louise Taylor), is on Peter Reid, and talks about how he's worked without salary for 4 months, as well as paid the power bill at Plymouth.

She says "The sheer force of the 54-year-old Merseysider's personality ensured that Rory Fallon, a New Zealand striker, recently rejected an income-guaranteeing loan move to Bristol Rovers in order to continue fighting Plymouth's corner"

You think it's funny the stuff journo compares to Fallon to Rooney? She compares Reid to Wenger. Apart from that irrelevant lapse, it's not a bad read.

Although factually correct, that gives a poor image of him in the game abris, wheras he hit the crossbar with a header, and  provided the assist for the first goal.

Was at the game, unlucky not to score and great ball control to set up Yala's opening goal.

I think that Rory has made the right decision. For Plymouth, if they were able to avoid relegation and Rory was part of that story then, they would be able to recoup some of the money that is lost by staying in the league. If they get relegated, any loan money that might have been paid for Rory loan move would never be able to balance the book off anyway. It's basically make and break for the club. If they don't get relegated Rory's contract could be re-signed and for money at the beginning of the season, they would be wise to allow some short -term loan move for Rory to get some money in the club and then have him back for the serious end of the season. It's not that uncommon for clubs to do that. The loan for Bristrol Rovers was no gurantee for long term contract either. Good on him for taking looking at the bigger picture and making a commitment to the club. Good luck to him.

We missed a penalty in the 90th minute which would have tied the game up... gutted.

What do people think about Fallon's chances of getting a decent contract next season? He's definitely leaving Plymouth right? Reckon he's still championship quality?

He certainly does - talked to him at Auckland airport after the Honduras game. Asked about the Rotherham offer (from earlier in the season) he said he didn't want to drop down to League 2 but thought once his contract was up he'd have no trouble getting a deal at a top League 1 or Championship club. Apparently there were other offers in summer for him but the club wanted money for him - figures seen as he's a free transfer he'll have no trouble getting picked up.
