Never liked Stevn Old, even Kilmarnock are too good for him.

Pretty bad season for Old as he didn't play a single minute with Kilmarnock. Even worst, he is rarely on the bench. The only good period for him was his 4 games loan deal at cowdenbeath. Maybe the best thing for him would be to go back on loan at cowdenbeath...

Yeah it was a pretty poor season for him in terms of game time. I guess good on him though for landing the professional contract there, has it been a couple of seasons now? at least they haven't got rid of him and he is still playing at a decent level. I remember about 10 years ago if we had a NZ player in the Scottish premier league he probably would have been one of the All whites top 3 or 5 players. club wise. the more players we have at professional clubs the better. so keep on truck'n old.

hopefully he gets more game time at Kilmarnock or where ever he is loaned to.

If we build it, they will come...

He went to Cowdenbeath when they had injuries to their defenders and he enjoyed playing in front of sizeable crowds.
Quote from the stuff article.

Very funny.

Old might go back on loan with cowdenbeath or an english team:

Cowdenbeath face a fight to land Steven Old on loan from Kilmarnock. An unknown English club are also believed to be trailing the player. (The Sun)

At the end of the season,Old will leave for sure Kilmarnock. There was a rumor of an english club trailing him: I think that league one would be a good level to play for him next season

He is currently a free agent after being released from Kilmarnock in May 2011. Any rumors of wherre he could end up next season?

"Meanwhile, New Zealand international defender Steven Old will have a trial with Perth Glory during the club's pre-season tour of South Africa.

The 25-year-old former Wellington Phoenix centre-half will fly into Perth on Saturday in time to travel to Johannesburg on Sunday with Ian Ferguson's squad."

Yes! Lets stick him on one of our rival A-League teams, that'd help us

Would he be such a bad thing at the 'Nix for round two? Had a good Olympic campaign a while ago...

If he was 3rd or 4th behind Dura, Siggie + defensive/midfield utility? Given he's no McKain though...

how do Pelter, Old and Boyens rank? At the mo Boyens has to be the best out of the 3 with a pro contract and some playing time.martinb2011-07-27 13:44:19

Why even bother including Pelter. Because he signed for Sunderland once upon a time? What has he done in the past three years???

What about Paul Cunningham or Ivan Vicelich??Luis Garcia2011-07-27 17:06:23

As you read this, Palmerston North and former All Whites footballer Steven Old is training in the warmer climes of South Africa.

He flew out a week ago after a call from the Perth Glory A-League club side for two weeks of pre-season training and camps. He had been home after finishing with Scottish Premier League club, Kilmarnock.

The Glory are looking for a couple of defenders to cover injured players and Old was keen to try for one of those spots. Star Kiwi striker Shane Smeltz is on the books of the Perth side and we hope Old might find his niche there

Since his calf injury in mid august, no news about where is old...

Steven McGarry, hamstring, and Steven Old, calf, both failed to finish the session on Tuesday, joining Evan Berger and Adam Taggart on the sidelines.

Basingstoke

It gets better and better (or worse and worse if you are Steven Old).

Three for me, and two for them.

24 min - Ali Chaaban looks to be outpacing the Town defence to a ball over the top. Steven Old makes the challenge and while he claims to have got the ball, the referee disagrees, giving a free-kick on the edge of the area.

Both sides surround the officials and Old is perhaps fortunate only to see yellow, though Jay Gasson was possibly in a covering position.

The resulting free-kick is smashed into the wall by Everitt

Old was injured last weeks and went back to the bench in the last game
Team news - Town name an unchanged side from last week's 1-1 draw with Dover. Injured defender Steven Old is not involved, but it's still likely to be a back three, with Stuart Lake filling in.
