Not being good enough? For South Africa? Hahahahaha.

Like most white South Africans who leave South Africa, they do so because they're over it. It would well and truly be a last resort for him I'm sure.

Well he would not be good enough for SA and also white SA's leave because they have more than half a brain.

From what the kid has said, he is committed to playing for for NZ at this stage. Yes, he still has the chance to play for Aus/SA and it could change in the future. It is too early to be throwing him against Mexico but he could well be a bolter for Brazil if we make it. That is a big if I know.

Atm he should focus on playing consistently for CCM, as its his first season of 1st team football. But he has made a pretty good start to it.

Apparently Storm Roux has been selected for the November qualifiers (according to the FFA). But when this squad will actually be made public I don't know. Is it too late though? Surely he should have been on the current US Tour. A debut against Mexico in such a crucial match seems so remote.

More on Roux's AW's call-up from the Aussie papers with quotes from Storm (Wednes.16):

http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/impressive-young-mariners-defender-storm-roux-earns-new-zealand-call-up-for-crunch-world-cup-qualifiers/story-fnii0fc3-1226741249107

HE'S played just 116 minutes of A-League football and now Storm Roux has been rushed into New Zealand's squad for their crunch World Cup qualifier against Mexico.

The 20-year-old defender made his debut for Central Coast Mariners against Western Sydney on Saturday and played the full 90 minutes.

Roux's only other A-League appearance was off the bench for Perth last season.

Mariners coach Graham Arnold was so impressed with the young right back that he thought his performance against the Wanderers was worthy of the Man of the Match award.

Roux was also pleased with his first game and is excited he caught the eye of the All Whites.

"I've just been called up into the next qualifying game for New Zealand, so hopefully if I do well in the training then I can make my debut for them," Roux said.

"It will be home and away (against Mexico) and it will be a massive crowd because it's such an important game. Playing against word class opposition is only good for you and the chance of maybe playing in that game is exciting."

Roux was born in South Africa, but moved to New Zealand when he was just three-years-old. He also holds Australian citizenship because his family then relocated to Perth when he was 14.

"I didn't hear anything from South Africa and there was a bit of interest from Australia, but at that time when I had interest from Australia I didn't have my citizenship yet," Roux said.

"I got the opportunity to go with New Zealand and be part of the Under-20 squad and I took that opportunity and that's how I ended up playing for New Zealand."

I would imagine most of the squad has been decided. Finalised by form/injuries closer to the game.

Actually, it's interesting and I didn't know this but I read recently that FIFA rules state that both club and player have to be notified fifteen days previous to the international window. So I guess it's common for players to be notified a long time before games.
The end of this month in other words is in effect the cut-off to finalize the AW's squad.
Late injury replacements etc. would be at the discretion of clubs to release players, I suppose, but not compulsory?
FIFA Regulations on the status and Transfer of Players:

Annexe 1, article 3, par. 2

2. Associations wishing to call up a player must notify the player in writing at least 15 days before the

first day of the international window (d. Annexe 1, article 1 paragraph 4) in which the representative

teams' activities for which he is required will take place. Associations wishing to call up a player for

the final competition of an international tournament must notify the player in writing at least 15 days

before the beginning of the relevant release period (d. Annexe 1, article 1 paragraph 7). The player's

club shall also be informed in writing at the same time. Equally, associations are advised to copy the

association of the clubs concerned into the summons. The club must confirm the release of the player

within the following six days.

Just "Storm Troopers" is fine. Storm Troopers are way cool, you don't mess with them!

Storm Troopers look cool even when they are being silly:

A team of characters from the franchise’s Original Trilogy. (Sorry Jedi Sam Jackson and Grand Admiral Thrawn, maybe next time). Since it’s a true movie classic, they’re lined up in a classic 4-4-2.

GK – Darth Vader – Not as mobile as he was in his youth, he’s still an imposing Force in goal.

CB – Chewbacca –
More than one opposing manager has admitted to suggesting a new strategy to their teams during the break: Let the Wookie win.

LB – Wedge Antilles – High-flying master of aerial bombardment. His game improved dramatically once he learned to worry about those fighters and let someone else worry about the tower.

CB – Emperor Palpatine – A ball-playing central defender, manipulating the game while staying far from the front lines. We moved him into the back after we couldn’t get his midfield partnership with Yoda to work out.

RB – Obi-Wan Kenobi – Despite his advanced years, he’s still an elegant player, for a more civilized age.

CM – Yoda –
Like Xavi and Messi, Yoda’s dominance proves that size matters not when you’ve got Force-aided vision and a telekinetic touch.

LM – Han Solo – Cocky to a fault, but has Dempsey-like timing and a knack for creating chances out of nothing. He’s one bad nerf-herder.

CM – Luke Skywalker – All-action, do everything dynamo. He comes to the rescue on defense one minute and the next is hitting precision shots at a target that’s well more than two-meter’s wide.

RM – Lando Calrissian – Smooth on the ball yet a cunning opportunist when he spies an opening. The fans are still talking about his little maneuver during the match against Taanab.

CF – IG-88 – Joining this team has only given more fuel to those who claim he’s a heartless mercenary, but his towering frame and lethal arsenal in front of goal make him worth the price.

CF – Boba Fett – Gerd Muller with a jet pack. He can and will do anything to get the goal.

It's a classic big man, badass strike partnership -

Rory Fallon stylee...

All Whites defender Storm Roux has been named as the December nominee for Football Federation Australia's young player of the season award.

The 21-year-old played five matches for the Central Coast Mariners during the month and scored his maiden A-League goal in the Mariners' round six match against the Wellington Phoenix.

Fellow Mariners player Trent Sainsbury and Newcastle Jets striker Adam Taggart are the other players nominated for the award so far this season.

Eligible again thank Jesus and a goal on the w/e not who you want it against tho. Also has 2 assists and 10 shot assists behind only Mitch Austin so he has been getting up the flank a bit good to have Ferriera in front of him I think. Look forward to him being in a white Jersey again and maybe give Fenton a more attacking role
