A inglorious game for Themi. Sent off (2nd yellow) just prior HT, with score 1-0. AEK convert resultant pen to make it 2-0, and cruise to a 3-0 win by match end.

Themi with 4 yellows & the red from 15 games (8 starts) this Greek Super Legaue season.

Levadiakos stay 2nd last. 4 more matches, and then league splits into a top 7, bottom 7 (relegation).

Levadiakos win 1-0. Themi an unused sub.
Levadiakos still last, 2 points from safety with 4 games left.

2-2 draw. Themi an unused sub.

Ionikos with a 85th min equaliser (2nd goal) which by season end may prove to have been mortal to Levadiakos's survival hopes.

Levadiakos (14th & last) travel to Panaitolikos (10th). Levadiakos 3 pts from safety, with 3 rounds left in a fight to avoid the drop.

Regardless it might be Themi's last season no matter what. Not playing much at age 37. Levadiakos's last game is hosting Themi's old club of many seasons PAS Giannina - so not better way to hang up those boots

Heart break for Levadiakos. Concede in 104th min, to draw 2-2.

Themi subbed on at 65 mins (2-1) to try hold out for a win. The win would have taken Levadiakos out of the drop zone.

2 games left in the fight to avoid relegation.

Another relegation 6 pointer as Levadiakos (14th/last, 24 pts, -30 GD) travel to Lamia (12th, 27 pts, -23 GD).

2nd last game of the season, with bottom 2 teams going down. If Levadiakos can't overtake Lamia they will go down. Realistically Levadiakos need to win this weekend to give themselves a chance.

Conceding that goal last weekend in 104th min, really must have been gut wrenching for them.

Themi an unused sub in a 1-1 draw. And more late heart break, Levadiakos conceding at 93 mins! 2nd week in a row they have let a vital win slip post 90 mins! That's rotten luck.

Realistically Levadiakos (25 pts, -30 GD) are relegated. Lamia (28 pts, -23 GD) are the only team they can catch.

They need to not only beat Themi's old club PAS Giannina next week, but Lamia to lose, plus get a 7 goal turnaround on GD.

Wonder if next weekend will be Themi's final pro football outing?

Edit - Levadiakos (last) are relegated already now. Ionikos (26 pts, 2nd last) play Lamia (3rd last) next week. So if Lamia lose, it's Ionikos who will stay up, not Levadiakos.

Hopefully Themi gets a start, in what yes could be a retirement game for him I wonder.

3-3 draw. No Themi. So that's a bit flat.

I'm just speculating he'll retire now. But I guess you never say never. If he does call it an end, hopefully NZF send out a little social media recognition message.

Retirement?
Never!
Well at least not yet anyway. He's instead about to embark on his 21st season in the professional game having signed for Kozani FC in the Greek Super League 2.

This guy is a true workhorse of the modern game, and to be approaching 500 first team appearances at any level is quite frankly superb.

Kozani are about to embark on their first ever campaign at such a level, having promoted out of the Gamma Ethniki (3rd tier) last season - Winning their group as well as competing in the playoff group, finishing 3rd of 5 (which seemed a bit pointless to be honest given the 5 sides that qualified as group winners all won promotion anyway...)

Anyway, it's great to see him still playing, and a decent level at that too. He'll no doubt be a fountain of knowledge for a club trying to find their way at this level. Hopefully he can help drive them clear of any relegation troubles as well.

Legend. Will be 38 in November. Seemed to really enjoy his stint with the AWs, and gave his all.

After 5 rounds, Kozani are 2nd in their Greek 2nd tier Group. Themi hasn't yet been in a match day squad.

Hopefully NZF can sort him out with a bunch of free tickets for the AWs game in Athens 18th Nov. Early birthday present. He'll be 38 on the 20th Nov!
