Can confirm, Boyd was at the game today and not at the 5pm screening of The Interview as was rumoured.

Is The Interview a chick flick?

If "chicks" like stupid jokes about North Korea, sure.

Well their leader does have the name Kim, so one might think he was a she if you were not aware of world politics.

No, you idiot, she's only his cousin (and on-off girlfriend, the Kims are a close family)

Get onto it Tyler.

Rumor has it Tyler Boyd appeared on one of my female friends Tinder app, and sent a reply to her "Sup :) " during the 80th minute of the game on Saturday saying 'not much. chillin at home. U?'

So he wasnt even at the game. Make of that what you will

He was at the game, giving high fives to his team mates before the game.

Yes. My friend tells me you have to use your Facebook account to log into it, so it gets your name and photo from there.

Tyler may get his "hair ruffled" at his new club in Portugal judging by all the scenes of croud violence at games involving Vitoria Guimaraes on You Tube. Maybe no foreign players want to play for them and they're happy to sign a naive young boy from NZ.

Here's the fans of the Vitoria B reserve / youth team he's likely to be playing for rioting, ripping up seats and firing flares at the opposition fans in 2013:

You'd think they'd have seats less easy to rip up and throw at rival fans.

Firing flares at opposition fans at close range - that's pretty extreme.

And that's just a reserve team match!

NZ u-20 international Birhanu Taye from Wellington played for the opposition side in that video, SC Braga B last season.

More trouble at a Vitoria Guimaraes games:

I don't think these fans are going to be as nice as us if he strarts watching 50 shades of grey, rather then watching matches.

It might actually suit him, instead of going to the movies, he could stand blindfolded between the 2 sets of fans.

He has some experience though. The RBB are the perfect training group.

So is the 50 Shades of Grey reference to Tyler Boyd selling his Black and White TV on TradeMe?

I thought this was interesting.  Very much a similar case to Tyler's.

Presumably their pre-season will start around late July as the league starts in late august/early September.

I hope Tyler was smart enough to start studying Portuguese as soon as he signed his contract and that he will move before pre-season starts in order to familiarize himself with his new life...

Hope to follow his progress closely over the next couple of years. With his speed and skills, I believe he could be a real asset to the AWs. He now needs to find consistency, to improve his overall game and finishing ability.

Vitoria SC are a club without much money and are picking up players like Tyler cheaply, probably hoping they can sell them in the near future to help pay their bills.

Six of their first team squad this season were players on loan from other Portuguese clubs.

The club were sanctioned by UEFA in December 2013 for unpaid bills.

"Their cup success last term [2013] followed financial problems which had forced the club to shed many of their better players, bringing in local youngsters to fill the gaps. Rui Vitória's squad is lean, but hungry....."

Playing in the Europa League 2013-14 as Portuguese Cup winners may have put a little cash in the coffers.

They are still 5th in Portugese League though with a nice stadium and average attendance of 18,000.

The biggest football daily in Portugal, A Bola, had a very small report (2 paragraphs to be precise) on Tyler Boyd officially putting pen to paper in Guimarães. For those not proficient in Portuguese, it basically confirms he's signed a 4-year contract. He'll likely play in the B side to begin with in the Liga 2.

Boyd is going to be playing against the sort of players we saw last night. It should be a good learning experience at least.

He is playing also sort of players that trashed Germany 5:0 in the Euro Cup.

Wonder what the almighty thinks about his new watch, looks like a golden Rolex on instagram. Don't think he got this as a goodbye present from the nix.
