yeah, there's nothing in that story. No new news re the state of Terry finances, just Morrison trying to get re-elected by saying he wants to save the PHoenix and a quote by pignata that didnt say anything about state of the club or Terry.

Well, f#ck 'em is all I can say at them moment. I ended up cancelling my subscription to SST when it expired - complete waste of money.

The DomPost as a whole has been getting pretty lightweight over the last year and for me personally I now mostly look at the football articles - which are all good.

Burgess is obviously of the same mould as Thompson - a bitter ex-football player.

Quite what made this front page news alongside a gutsy All Whites performance is beyond me.

(Sort of like saying - football is doing well at the moment but we're all doomed and we don't like you to get too big).

I am not idly saying I'm thinking of cancelling my subscription. If I see anymore so called Phoneix news from that hobo I will.

unfortunately Simon Elliottt is passed his "use-by-date", the nix really need someone with more pace and skills, it looks like the guy from Argentina has the goods if his YouTube vids are anything to go by

I hardly think NZF will go for a full independent inquiry as suggested. Rather melodramatic take on what should be a standard de-brief and review of his role, what went right, what needs to be worked on - for the next 4 years.

I mean, I wouldn't expect the Spanish Inquisition...

Guys don't be over sensitive I think this was a good article ...

My reading of the tea leafs is the RH had an excellent WC... the technical shape the AW played with and pushing on the attack was tactically brilliant at times...

The question that must be asked if RH is this good [and I am not saying he is not] then it is only a matter of time until some big bucks come his way to head OS...

However that NZ Football do a proper debrief of the WC to
me makes sense... not sure if FFA are doing one ... but I think they are and there have been a number of articles in Australia supporting a similar debrief of our WC ...

Ricki with Marty Devlin the other day (the link that's in the trialist thread) mentioned this Smith article and said he was very insulted by it, and that with Tony being over there in South Africa he really should have had a better idea.

As I've said elsewhere - the press whining a few weeks ago was that if we didn't sign Ricki NOW NOW NOW then it was 82 all over again, like losing Adshead after Spain. Smith's take is that if we do sign Ricki immediately - without conducting a Spanish Inquisition, involving superannuated players with their own petty jealousies and agenda - it's 82 all over again.

Although I agree a little bit that NZ should maybe have gone for broke a little more in that last game, the article is quite remarkable! Remarkably weird!

Meh. The article doesn't achieve much and Ricki doesn't have anything to prove.

Have no major beef with the questions raised as they are mostly irrelvent. Might have been different if we got pasted in all three matches, the players revolted, Nelesn got sent home and then Brian turner resigned.

I feel more sorry for Larissa Riquelme who got robbed and had her cellphone taken (can just imagine the robber reaching for the phone!).

Tony Smith writes a good article.
Now that the ABs have been to AMI and Sonny Bill has had his first club game. Smithy can get back to football coverage.
The more A league and local football in the paper the better.

It is fine to agree to disagree. Sam Worthington gives coverage alright, BUT not good coverage or should I say fair coverage.

I'm not sure if I'm mellowing this season - I read Paul Thompson's article a couple of days ago and just thought it was the same stirring to get a reaction.

yet another article on the front page of the Dom (Sun).....not as inflammatory as yesterday's...I'mn seriously thinking about emailing the editor asking if their reporters are going to do a big expose on rates and acc levies being unpaid within Wellington, and asking if the are not actually targetting one man....

There's two issues in my mind reagarding all of this crap.

Who's got it in for Terry and seems to be digging up as much bad publicity and as often as they can and why?

What are ACC doing announcing private confidential material about a client on the front page of a newspaper and is this an example of a new policy - name and try to shame?

Someone at ACC needs to be fired for leaking such stuff into the public domain!

Would any of us like our private business affairs or commercially sensitive information to be exposed like this? In fact, I cant believe just how much the club actually pays.

I wonder if the Rugby Union would like to tell us their figures?

This Wellington paper ceased to be taken seriously when the Dom and the Post merged into one.

What was up with the article on Ricki's heart rate during the match being on the front page? The first thing I thought was they were almost blatantly trying to get one back with the Phoenix fans - who are undoubtedly pissed off with them publicly picking TS apart every chance they get. No way was that article front page worthy. Am I off my head or is it just a coincidence it was printed right next to yet another TS story?

"Don't worry Phoenix fans, we have nothing against your club (and we still love you - check out this story about RH) we're just forced to investigate your club's corrupt owner because, well, it's a good story"
