I see we're now onto Sky Sports 3. The rugby League is about to KO on Sky Sports 1, or is it union? I get so confused between the two watching them this season. It all seems the same.

You can add Blackburn to that list, and some ugly Redsh*te jerseys too (yellow? green? ....Liverpool FC fullstop?)

The hardest part about moving to NZ was getting used to union, it seemed so weird and different after growing up with league, mostly because of the whole playing the ball difference. So I just stuck to being decent at football and kicking everyones arse in cricket (and thus I get back on topic )

Put glasses on Robb Watson and you'd have Harry Potter, It would also help him see where the Beers are on the table.

Cricket: Anderson on crutches after football mishap 7:57PM Saturday March 15, 2008

English fast bowler James Anderson left the Basin Reserve on crutches tonight, after injuring his left ankle while playing football after stumps on day three of the second cricket test against New Zealand in Wellington today.

Anderson was to bat with Monty Panesar tomorrow when England resume their second innings on 277 for nine - an overall lead of 421.

More importantly the right arm swing bowler will play an integral part in the England attempting to square the series when New Zealand start what will need to be a record run chase tomorrow.

It was not known if he will be able to participate in the remainder of the game with a decision to be made before play starts at 10.30am.

We need more than a crippled Anderson to get out of this.  Bell's shot making ability and 'footloose' Sinclair gives me nightmares really....

I'll always enjoy seeing Nzers squirm when being beaten by England: the cricket I find tedious!

If Sinclair isn't dropped after this there's something wrong at the top of NZ Cricket.

Three for me, and two for them.

I know they're only numbers, but Sinclair's first-class average is better than anyone else's in the test team (or the international frame) and better than John Wright, Geoff Howarth, Nathan Astle or Bevan Congdon.

Like I say, they're only numbers though...he's an enigma at test level - just 7 times past 50 in 52 innings, but three of those scores have been 214, 150 and 204 not out.

Not sure who you'd bring in.....Fulton?  Awful earlier in the season, but I see he got a couple of moderate scores in the most recent State Championship match.....looks a certainty to tour England with Fleming gone.

I'd leave Skippy there for Napier - can't hurt.

yeh...my understanding was the light was really bad they didn't ago off untiil they'd taken the new ball and a wicket...when the light got drastically worse in the space of 40 seconds after it had been dangerous for 4-5 overs at the very least...

Yeh Liverpool fan I'm with you- the guy has been the most dicked around guy in the recent history of New Zealand cricket...he went away worked on his game, put on a pile of statistics...and has been shown sod all faith compared to the crap that went on with Hamish Marshall...

I can't get on cricinfo unfortunately due to some reason...but, well I think he's due and I've seen him play a lot of class inninngs and I think it would be nice to have someone with experience in our batting line up- especially as Flem walks (how criminal is that?!?) in one test...

what did he get today? it wasn't exactly a single figure failure was it? I thought everyone got starts...apart from How whos done fairly well recently...

Getting starts and not going on to a big score is even worse than not getting off the mark. He's had his chance he has to go.

I just wish Ryder hadn't f**ked up after the ODI's because if he wasn't injured he'd be in there right now ahead of gobsh*te Sinclair. Otherwise i'd go wish that Yarpie bloke who was included in the 13-man squad before the test series started, give him ago. Think the names Grant Elliott.

Three for me, and two for them.

Sinclair's one thing.  What about Bell and that 'graceful' edge that the English dropped???!!??  He was crap when first picked a decade ago - and nothing's changed.  He makes Blair Pocock (remember him - shudder) look talented...FFS.

We wouldn't be having these problems if Ryder didn't screw up and Styris didn't retire from tests.

So who do you bring in to replace him?  Cumming?  Papps?

today was so indicative of new zealand batsmen lack of hunger. all of them got starts, sinclair and taylor both had hundreds in them and big hundreds at that. oram hopefully would of gone on tommorow but got sorn off by some bucknor like umpiring.  fleming got done by a peach, those things just happen. sure he was leaving but it was a jaffa of a delivery that came back and clipped the top of off.

sinclair should be there in england. id be tempted to send him back to 3 but i think all our top order, whoever we put there will struggle against a swinging duke ball in england in may/june.

other really interesting thing today was when england came back after tea (theyd been flat before tea and sinclair/taylor had been getting on top) michael vaughn turned to the barmy army and got someones attention and aksed them to lift the noise level. obviously a big lift for england.

OMG...

you have just completely rendered me speechless.

I'll put it down to the football today.

sure when you are chasing a world record never been done before 4th innings score 37 or 39 or whatever it was seems a little sh*te. However by your logic Mark Richardson was one of our worst players.

guh. ok. well yeh. anything but the boys in blue today i guess.

Mark Richardson was one of our worst players. He put so much pressure on other players to score that he probably ruined the averages of Styris, Astle, Fleming, McMillan to enhance his own.

And hes a t**ser in the commentary box.

riachardson is the only nz batsmen to average over 40 since i presume crowe. he was not sh*t. by the end of his careeer he was placing pressure on the others but for most of it we were building innings around him

I reckon we leave the team as is for now, they won the first, small hope to win the second, if we lose then let them make it up in the third. Only change would be to bring Jeetan patel back, we looked far more dangerous in the bowling dept with him there.... and we know the Englosh cannot play spin.
