Fellow young Feverites! 37 days till the NCEA exams start! Like last year I thought it would be good to make a thread to stress out on.

I personally have 8 externals at Lvl 1:

History
English
Maths
Chemistry
Human Biology
Physics
Japanese
Economics

Make sure you all study hard, you'll regret it down the line if your cock up your exams now. ForteanTimes2009-10-09 19:57:46

Two weeks for my uni exams and I am packing myself. Need about 85% in all of them.

Yeah good question WPF.

I'm just reading questions reading questions. If I get a question wrong I reread the passgae and redo the questions. Il then redo that the next day and the next day to ensure I know it. Well I hope it works. I did limited study for mocks and did average.. really average

FT, thanks for the advice.. But NCEA is pretty straight forward ,you don't actually need Level 3 for Uni. Nuts.

Had my Level 1 Science mock exam 2nd to last day of school term. Studied every night for about 3 1/2 weeks. I found it very easy but no one else did so I am rather worried now. Have got all the maths credits available to me at the moment, 2 for social studies and am on the way to 2 in French and 2 in English.

Im doing FYHS this year. Loving it but its a lot of work. I took a year off as well, although that year I should have been doing year 13

Overstudied! At least you wont have to do much study for the real one.

I tend to condense my years notes on a subject onto blank pieces of paper, I read them over, let them sink in. After that I just do lots of practice/previous papers.
Permalink Permalink
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I just read my Study guide and then do the activities.

It gets harder next year as you can't use them for many subjects.

Previous papers are the way to go, I reckon. Getting notes done. Blah blah blah. I've got Level 3 Stats and English, Level 2 Accounting and Spanish and English Scholarship. I do Psych but it is entirely internal, haha, very fun though. Just gradually build up how long/hard you study until just before/during the exams you're peaking. Its just like football, see? No good peaking in the group stage!!

Have one exam at uni.  Classical Greek History.  Worth 50% of my overall mark for the subject.

Classical Greek History? What do you intend to do after Uni? As in, to use the dreaded word, a "career".

Yeah it is a fill-in one.  I'm doing a BA majoring in History and Political Science.  Next year I'll be adding Criminology to my degree (as it starts in the second year) so I'll be heading up to Wellington.

And I have absolutely no idea what I'm wanting to do afterwards.  Rather banking on winning the lottery actually.

Really interesting.  I'm doing World Politics and International Relations papers and they are really good.  No exam for either (I'm sure other Pols papers have exams though) as well which makes it better.

Haha i'm all good with them no worries, just not a science person really either don't know why I took it!

Media depends on what sort of programme your school runs I think. Ours is pretty much all about movies so it's awesome as long as you don't mind the odd essay.

Yeah, I took level 2 Bio last year and struggled through it for a year, haha. Alright, hopefully it'll be like yours then.
