Haha thanks I knew there was one!!!

Boyhood.

Watched it last night and really enjoyed it.

Filmed with the same cast over 12 years. They filmed a week each year or something. It's fascinating

Watched The Last Gladiators (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2044040/) last night, a documentary about goons in ice hockey - the players whose job is to protect their teams star players and fight other goons on the ice.  Focuses predominately on Chris 'Knuckles' Nilen, a Boston lad who excelled as a goon for the Montreal Canadians, but talks to many of the other players of that era (70s - 80s).  Really interesting - it is on Netflix UK (and possibly other regions) for those that have it.

Also watched the BT Sport documentary The Crazy Gang, about the Wimbledon side of the mid 80s.  It was alright - loads of bollocks in there, especially from Fashanu and Vinny Jones, but some pretty interesting stories as well. Fashanu especially comes across as a complete fudgeing nutcase, and not in the good way.  Some of his statements on there are scary (talking about his elbow on Gary Mabbut which fractured his skull), nasty (talking about someone being the brother he never had) and funny ("we had to give 120%......no wait, that is stupid.....200%"). The whole documentary is on youtube for those who want to watch it (Crazy Gang documentary)

I thought Birdman didn't come out until Thursday? I'm looking forward to it.

Saw The Imitation Game last night, holy shark that was a well put together film. A refreshing take on the biopic format.

'71: Excellent 'behind enemy lines' type drama starring Jack O'Connell.

(if you haven't seen Starred Up with O'Connell in it then you should also seek that one out)

Yeah Starred Up was cool. Ben Mendelsohn is always good value. Need to see Idiot Box again!

Just finally got around to see the last Hobbit film. Pretty good action flick.

Why though when saying "Mordor" do they pronounce it "Muurrrrdooorrr" like when a Scottish person says "Murder".

 What's wrong with "Mordor"?

It's the way Tolkein himself used to say it, "Muuyydoor", apparently.

Watched burning love on Netflix the other night - not sure it is really a movie, it is just a 90 minute pisstake of the bachelor and the bachelorette.  Pretty funny although it gets pretty repetitive by burning love 2.  All the jokes have been used

Just about to spend the next 6 days in an aeroplane so should have plenty more for this thread by the end of that

oh, also watched Springsteen and I agsin last night - wept like I had rubbed deep heat on my eyeballs.  It is just a load of people who had sent home made videos of themselves talking about the boss, intermixed with some old concert footage.  A must for any fan of Bruce

Finally got round to watching Gone Girl - very decent.  I had read the book but it is always good to see how someone else interprets something.

On a side note, I now have a massive crush on Rosamund Pike - she makes my underpants tight.

the man is brilliant - Fight Club, Se7en, Zodiac, Panic Room. Even his not so good films (Social Network, Benjamin Button) are still alright.

This year I was planning to watch every John Cusack film in an effort to be a better person, but I am now thinking that my time would be better spent watching all of Fincher's movies again.

Haha if you go through with the Cusack fest, that'll mean you have to watch 2012. Will NOT make you a better person.

I've not started it yet but DF has a big hand in House Of Cards also. Produced it and directed a couple of eps aswell I think.

Bought both of Robert Graysmith's Zodiac books after watching the film about a hundred times too.

already seen 2012 but will watch it again for the Cuse.

About halfway through the first season of HoC, and it is pretty good. Fincher (and the good reviews it was getting) was why I decided to give it a go.

I fudgeing loved Zodiac - it is a really interesting story but I think that the film was just about perfect.
