I really want to get stuck into his other films now. Seen Full Metal Jacket plenty of times, and Clockwork Orange and The Shining a cupla times each, but nothing else really.

Watch Dr. Strangelove!!!!

That had been suggested to me too... also read a bit about it online and earmarked it as the next cab off the rank ;)

Any Scorcese fans out there?

There was an awful 80's Paintball thriller called Masterblaster. Does anyone remember it?

I just watched "Bambi" with my young fella. What a classic worth watching again. I hope the hunter that killed Bambi's mother choked on the venison.

I took the Mrs to the movies on the weekend for our anniversary. Her choice, so we ended up at Sisters. Just before the start of the movie I look around and notice that I'm the only guy in the theatre (though one other did arrive with his Mrs 30 seconds into it). Wasn't the worst movie either, kind of like a Will Ferrell movie but with girls.

Recently saw Sicario with Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro.

Brutal (in places), lush visuals, amazing soundtrack and decent story line. Pretty good thriller.

Watched "Ted 2" last night and I thought it was very funny. A different storyline to the original which was a good move. Not rehashing the first too much.

Came across a film by Matt Dillon called City of Ghosts. I am not sure if it is that great a film but...   I watched it all.

Safe to say that he packed in a multitude of cinema cliches.

The soundtrack is worth a listen if the film doesn't do it for you.

Soundtrack example.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Just watched Anchorman again. It never got a mention when everyone was wetting themselves over Leo DeCaprio fighting a CGI bear in The Revenant. Anchorman has a much more realistic fight scene

At least the News Team actually fight real bears!

I watched the Charlie Brown / Peanuts movie and loved it. It reminded me of the distant passed when we got the rare cartoon as a kid on TV at Christmas time. I reckon they really did Schulz a favour with this film. It touched all the bases.

The Big Short was brilliant. All star cast about the housing bubble that led to the GFC. Pretty crazy stuff. Steve Carell was amazing. He's so good in dramatic roles.

Am I the only one that got most of the "in Jokes" including the 4th estate when watching and loving "Deadpool" ?? I thought it was confused the first time but the second time it all fell into proper place. Yes, I knew during the first time that it jumps back and forth in time.

Just got in from 3D  Independence Day. 8.5 out of 10. Most of the original cast and a simi,ar story but it is also adding new charactors and a decent plot. I enjoyed it. 2 hours of escapism and ignore the odd plot hole.

Perhaps he was expecting an academy award performance. It is a sci fi action movie. Cornball like the first one but a fun ride regardless.

it's pretty bad. But there is a 25 minute or so period where it's quite entertaining.

A bit like watching the nix.

I watched "The Lady in the Van" last night. Was an excellent British movie based on a true story. The author of the original book whom knew the lady, makes a cameo at the end of the film. Maggie Smith at her best. I love these sort of films, some real gems. Best Hotel Marigold was another good one too.
