Hey, at least he got that far! Taylor is looking good, although I'm not really watching it, just on in the background. Fulton in, yeah?

just back onto cricinfo now. good recovery but no surprises that guppy got out playing a pull shot. lets hope taylor pushes on to his 100

if we can get to 200 and still be 3 down we will be looking alot better

What are the odds that Guptill's gonna get to 30 off 25 playing some classy shots, and then find a ridiculous way to get out?

he does hav a knack of doing that
I'm backing a lazy unnecessary pull shot.

Bottom edged onto the stumps?

That or top edge to deep backward square/long leg

Well what would you know, who would have guessed.

We should call in Tim Southee, ripped through Wellington. Truly amazing figures:

25 overs, 12 maidens, 27 runs, 8 wickets.

McCullum given out second to last ball. Challenged and he's still there.

Thoughts on this challenge system ?

I think it's worth a try.

hmm to be honest that wasnt too bad a day on a green pitch suited to the bowlers.

hope vettori and mcullum can push on

You will hate it the second a decision goes against us.

I pondered that, and have decided yes I would be disappointed but would rather it be fair for both sides.  I don't like winning because of bad umpiring decisions.

its even worse loosing cos of bad umpiring desicions
Permalink Permalink

yes I meant to say that also.  Much much worse.  Can't remember when that last time we lost a match cause of shoddy umpiring.  Anyone?

I would argue that Taufell's McCullum decision wasn't a bad one at all.  Even though it was overturned, I think it was close enough that in his opinion (which is actually in the rules for LBW, unlike any other dismissal) it was out.  So I think both the umpire on the field, and the third umpire got it right (even with two different decisions!)

Argh, just as we could have gone a session without a wicket McCullum goes to the last ball. Oh well, 375 still looks pretty healthy.

Anyone follow the 1st class stuff on the Net? Some pretty good games this round, Broom getting 196, Southee getting 8.
Yovich has scored a lot of runs for ND this season. CD are pretty bollocks, Harry pulling another hundy out.... You could go on!

I really do love cricket!
