This. So now they decide they can keep calm and play some cultured test cricket, huh?

Central 349/0 chasing needing another 93 in the last session. Ingram 183 and How 145, amazing run chase.

Yep, record opening stand in any game by any team. Unbelievable.  How will probably miss out on his double. Despite being a Wellington fan I hope they win by 10 wickets.

I wonder when the last time in a first-class game in NZ that there has been two double centuries and two centuries in a game. It has been quite an interesting match I must say with us at 215-8 then going to 440-9 and declaring. That was in 150 overs. Then Central Stags were something like 136/2 overnight and we bowled them out for 205. Then we hit a quick 207 off 54 overs and delcare and they blast their way to 424 at 4.5 an over without losing a wicket. I do wonder what our field was like for the last 100 runs though...

It had everything though and the run rate was quick unlike most of NZ's first-class domestic games that go at like 2 an over.

EDIT: Ignore some of that, How got out for 176... 428/1.wellyphoenixfan2009-12-15 16:46:12

Ahh, finally a wicket in Wellington. But a 428 run opening stand.

We require 162 off 30 overs. We have Guptill, Elliott, Taylor, McCullum and Vettori who are all established one-day players so I am hopeful.

That Dilmah tea party interview tricked me. Tuffey and Southee can smash it too.

we are just about on track..
There's 25 left and we've scored 84/0 in 18   and only 124 runs to get.

McIntosh needs to slog out

Watling an exciting prospect though. Although he looks like a little boy, he batted with class.

I'm glad Dan the Man had a go at the pitch too. What the f**k is the groundsman playing at there? Always produces a road, always results in a draw. Rain or no rain.

In my opinion it's as simple as this. The groundsman is either (a) in the pocket of NZC or (b) a boring c**t. Possibly both.

For those that cant be bothered looking and could think of nothing worse in the entire world than f***ing Downey, it was 413 play 411. Or something similar. Sehwag, Dilshan and Sangakara all went a little bit nutty

Oh and India won

wow really good days test cricket in perth. still no aussie has got 100 in this series.

Gayles 100 off 70 balls was wonderfull to watch

that high scoring sri lanka v india game got me thinking as to wether an odi double hundred will ever occur. fatigue comes into it big time so will need to be done by someone real fit. maybe baz. you could see how tired sehwag got

watched 'the chosen ones' interview of stephen fleming last nite on sky. really interesting. got me thinking as to wether he could coach nz. knows an awful lot about the behind the scenes running of nz cricket and all that

Yeah I watched half of that Chosen Ones program, sure was interesting.

Lol at Benn, Haddin and Johnson having a scuffle, great batting from Gayle.

I agree with what your saying about the elusive double hundred. Guys like sehwag etc who look like easing to it do and have struggled with fitness, there are plenty i think are capable if looking at the fitness factor. Baz definetly, I think MS Dhoni is capable, Smith and De Villiers as well. I think it is something that will happen, and maybe nt too far away. twenty20 cricket i think has opened the door to it becoming more realistic.
