Jesse in at 3 is interesting, he will be feeling more pressure there. Not looking to comfortable so far.
Looks like Ryder has been told to take some responsiblity as a senior player and bat 3. I like it. Put some pressure on him to bat for the team. Long term I still would prefer him at 5 and Williamson at 3, but i'm OK with it for now.

Bloody hell, that 4 no balls shows how much the pitch is going. That went a mile. I know when it starts legside it always looks worse, but it went off the pitch and in the air.

Don't think Taylor or Guptill could have done anything better. Ryder just got caught playing around his pad, which will always happen early before you get your feet moving early. I really can't fault the discipline of the players so far, but I bet that the media will ignore that and crap on about ill discipline and shot selection.

mate i saw the pitch report and i've never seen anything like it at this level. Green but patchy, will be hard to read as a batsmen.
I tell you what if i served that up for a first class game a pretty serious discussiion with my boss would take place sometime after the match. Makes me think the aussies have asked for it to be prepared that way.
