Rongotai used to always do a brilliant haka back in the day (87-91), is it still impressive? I used to love McEvedy Sheild, it was my first taste of active support- kiwi pie2008-02-17 11:12:30

when is mcevedy and where is it? i might come along for a goosey. my cousin who was a stream boy always used to tell me that winning mcevedy was better than winning the national 1st 15 title. i wana see what all the fuss is about.

Winning McEvedy means bragging rights over all the other f**k knuckle schools in Welly.

I remember I was on the SPC Athletics team of 1987, just a skinny little 3rd former, and we got off the bus at Newtown Park at about 8:00 to see that Rongotai had been there since 7:00, and had painted the whole place up with RC graffitti, and had taken up the end of the stand overlooking the entrance so they could hurl abuse at us when we arrived...I can still hear those hundreds of voices chanting "Go home St Pats , Go Home St Pats, Go Home St Pats, Go Home...!!" to the tune of Auld Lang Syne. it was pretty impressive. kiwi pie2008-02-19 09:12:30
